She was an heiress to the Helene Curtis cosmetics fortune but she relinquished her claim to that fortune.

This is one thing we can check from all that nonsense.

Helene Curtis was an American company (based in Chicago), not English. In fact, there was no "Helene Curtis" person at all.

Helene Curtis Industries Inc.

In 1927, Gerald Gidwitz and Louis Stein formed the National Mineral Co., which made the “Peach Bloom Facial Mask” and other beauty products. During the 1930s, the company had success selling shampoos, “Lanolin Creme,” and “Suave” brands. After World War II, the company changed its name to Helene Curtis, which combined the names of Stein's wife and son.
...
In 1996, one year after Helene Curtis moved its headquarters to suburban Rolling Meadows, it was purchased by Unilever, the giant British-Dutch corporation.

Angelina Imden does not exist.

I know that WWIII will be started in Spratly Islands claimed by the Philippines.

No, you claim to have received a divine message about the date of the start of WW III and what WW III will be over.

You got the date completely wrong.

There is no reason to presume that you're any more correct about whether there will be a WW III and if so the location .

Most of the time, it is the spirit of Ama who appropriates the physical body of Ka Apaz. However, sometimes, the Blessed Virgin Mary talks. Saint Evangeline, a cherubim, (named by the people) speaks with a nasal twang (“ngongo”). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Spanish_monarchshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_era

You are describing simple techniques used by mediums to fool persons like yourself who want to Believe. We also have the failure of all predictions, and the amazing coincidence of Ka Apaz' country being the center of all the attention. And of course any actual information provided just happens to be already known by Ka Apaz.

I have talked to Angelina Imden once. I heard her in two or three other tapes.
That was via Ka Apaz right? You didn't actually meet this "Angelina" person, did you?
The people in the Philippines talk to her in Filipino and she responds in Filipino even though she does not speak the language.
Oh, right. :) By the magic of the spirit world, Ka Apaz once again channels a non-existent entity, who just happens to be speaking the only language that Ka Apaz knows. Did this never once strike you as suspiciously convenient? :D
She was an heiress to the Helene Curtis cosmetics fortune but she relinquished her claim to that fortune.

From whom was she due to inherit this fortune? When did she relinquish it and to whom?

Why do you imagine anyone should believe you that this person ever existed?

I'm at work and debunking PC on My coffee break, but does someone else want to deconstruct Josephus in more detail? I'll just start the ball rolling by saying that Josephus wasn't even born at the time of the alleged Jesus events, so anything he has to say on the subject of Jesus is just hearsay. Even worse, the authenticity of the Testimonium Flavianum passage is definitely in question and is thought to have been added to the text many years after the time of Josephus.

As for Ka Apaz's voice acting, that's trivial. Very, very trivial.

Consider, please, the fine work of Mel Blanc -- "The Man of a Thousand Voices." He could do Woody Woodpecker and Speedy Gonzales (both fast-talking characters) AND Barney Rubble (more laid-back) AND Pepé Le Pew (Francophone skunk) AND a few female characters as well.

I, Myself have done voice acting. I did King Louis XIV, in French, for a high school assignment; a male leprechaun for a St. Patrick's Day play in Grade 3; and 3 different Dragonlance characters (Bupu, Crysania and Takhisis, Queen of Darkness) for a science fiction/fantasy convention skit. I also do remarkably good imitations of Frank Oz characters, including SuperGrover, Cookie Monster and the Swedish Chef.

I think Marcus is correct -- People like Ka Apaz can easily fool people like PC who Want to Believe.

And has anyone put forth the hypothesis that Ka Apaz is actually suffering from something like a dissociative disorder? She may be mentally ill, concocting multiple personalities that conveniently align with the religious sentiments of her upbringing and place of residence.

I also find it fascinating that PC did not answer an unequivocal "No!" to the question of whether or not he would start a nuclear war, but instead waffles by saying something to the effect of "Not until I get the order to fire the missiles."

I'm going to take that as an admission of "Yes, I would... If someone told me it was okay to do it." I think that speaks volumes about how PC's beliefs have informed his morality.

She was an heiress to the Helene Curtis cosmetics fortune but she relinquished her claim to that fortune. Instead, she leads a religious group somewhere in England. She has been assigned by Jesus to dig up the physical bodies in which the spirit of Reneliniyindi resided, according to Ama. Last that I know is that there were already about seven cadavers in individual coffins in a room at her place. When the spirit of Reneliniyindi enters a cadaver, a light switches on to know which coffin has the spirit.
I live in England, Peace Crusader. None of this is even remotely likely, never mind true. Do you seriously expect us to believe that the "leader of an [unnamed] religious group" with no hits on google, is keeping seven dead bodies in her house, in contravention of the law, having dug those bodies up, which is also against the law? How old is this strangely named Angelina Imden?

According to Ama, what the people in England would hear are the voices of those talking in the Philippines but in the language of where the cadaver was dug up. For example, the cadaver was dug up in Iran, the language maybe Persian. Those in England would hear the voices from the Philippines speaking in Persian even though they don’t know Persian. The voice from the Philippines will still be the same but the language is not in Filipino but in Persian.
When and where would we hear these voices in English?

There are other living mediums in other parts of the world like Maricel in Canada, Dulce in Israel, and Salome in California. Dulce, for example, speaks in Hebrew. Those around her know Hebrew. The people in the Philippines speak in Filipino but those in Israel will hear them speaking in Hebrew.

I have not been to Europe, or to England. I asked where she [Angelina Imden] is but she seems not to give her true whereabouts. This is one thing that I doubt – why she seems to refuse where to see her.
It's almost as if she's yet another made up character in Ka Apaz's repertoire of fake voices - no wait, it's exactly like that.

This may be why there is a whistling sound at the entry and exit of spirits when Ka Apaz is lying down and covered with bedsheet. Ama says that people in other parts of the world would hear the session also. If she is standing up, like in mass, only those in the Philippines would hear the mass (http://aristean.org/wp086.htm titled “How the Holy Spirit talks to people”.
So she whistles under a sheet - and you think this is meaningful. Tell me, have you looked up "gullible" in a dictionary?

Ama related an incident wherein a foreigner was looking for Ka Apaz at Baliwag, Bulacan but was referred to the town of Capaz, Tarlac, some 80 km away to the northwest.
What does that anecdote have to do with anything?

If Ka Apaz was just faking the personalities that I mentioned, how could she impersonate individuals like a Saint Evangeline who is a “ngongo” (maybe with a cleft lip or harelip) or a fast talker like Santa Cecilia with an accent as well?

.

Are you serious? I can talk fast with an accent. I'm sure you can too. Are we the Holy Spirit just cause we can do this?

Ha! Trick question.

You can't fool me; "gullible" isn't in the dictionary.
A bloke down the pub told me.
Darn! You ruined my cunning plan. :D

Thanks for the information about Helene Curtis Inc, Adman. Did Ka Apaz not realise it's an American company, perhaps?

I am consulting the censuses and electoral rolls in the UK, but it's such an uncommon name that there is only one family named Imden on the 1911 census. They certainly wouldn't be heirs to a cosmetics fortune, being a widowed labourer and his two daughters, living in a boarding house in a very poor part of London. I will continue researching with the small amount of information PC has given us, but at this time I think it's safe to say that I can be 99% certain that this Angelina Imden doesn't exist. I am following the censuses and electoral rolls back to find out if there are other branches of the family who might have spelled their name differently, and given the birth dates of the daughters (1895 and 1902) I should be able to trace their death certificates (and marriage certificates if they were married).

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

Quite an embarrass de richesses today. One scarcely knows where to begin.

Regarding your question, I will not start off World War III. For example, I am in-charge of a missile silo in the US. I first get my instruction to fire my missile from the Commander-in-chief. Only when I get the confirmation will I fire it.

It's a good thing it's you and not I standing by that fatal button, because if it were shiny and a pretty colour--purple, say--I just might be tempted to push it. The next thing you know, there'd be 200,000,000 Chinese soldiers standing in the line in front of me at Baskin-Robbins. And they'd probably gobble up all the mint chocolate chip before you could exclaim "Ka Apaz is a phony!"

I know that WWIII will be started in Spratly Islands claimed by the Philippines. How would I start it off there? Do I attack the islands and reefs occupied by foreign troops and drive them out from the area claimed by the Philippines? Does the Philippines have the capability to drive out other claimants? How sure am I that my action will trigger a world war? China or Vietnam may counterattack, and instead of my driving out the claimants, I may even lose those that I already hold, like what happened between China and Vietnam.

If I were a Chinese at the Spratly Islands, I can grab islands and reef held by other claimants, like what I did at Mischief Reef taken from the Philippines. But I have to watch out for my action for the US may retaliate in behalf of the Philippines.

You should ask that living embodiment of duplicity Ka Apaz to channel the late Sir John Keegan and get some tips on military strategy.

To me, at present, the name Reneliniyindi is the name of the spirit that is in Ka Apaz. It was a spirit in Heaven which was brought down to earth after the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) ascended to Heaven. This spirit, according to Ama, first resided in an Egyptian princess named Reneliniyindi who died during her wedding day to Philip I (or maybe to the very first monarch to which King Philip II descended).

Yes, yes. The iniquitous Ka Apaz is just the Charlie McCarthy to Teh Holy Spook’s Edgar Bergen, Achmed the Dead Terrorist to Jeebus’s Jeff Dunham. Gotcha.

If Ka Apaz was just faking the personalities that I mentioned, how could she impersonate individuals like a Saint Evangeline who is a “ngongo” (maybe with a cleft lip or harelip) or a fast talker like Santa Cecilia with an accent as well?

Don't they have theatres and movie houses where you live? Or DVDs?

Your aging witch has apparently been practicing these deceptions for more than five decades. Naturally over the years she gets bored performing the same old routines, and seeks to add variety to her repertoire. I can't wait for her Lear.

It is good that you get the info from me who is still living whom you can ask. I am an eyewitness. It would be difficult to reconstruct events if the eyewitnesses are already dead.

I confess that, on many days, I would not trade this thread for a sackful of beignets from Café du Monde.

Regarding Adolf Hitler, I am not sure about him being eaten by maggots while alive. There seems to be no account of it on the Internet.

It is all too obvious that you consider random websites to be irrefutable evidence of the bizarre, the wacky, the out-and-out deranged. If one of these sites told you the sun rises in the West and sets in the East, I fear you would believe it.

There are web pages that discuss oddities in sciencey ways, seeking the truth beneath the tissue of hyperbole, mistakes, and outright lies with which these wondrous tales are recounted--but to read your posts, one would never know such skeptical resources exist. Your Google results must be filtered through a special rationality suppressant.

Are you under the impression that this occurs by magic? That Teh Wholly SpookTM reaches out and presses a light switch with his incorporeal pinky? And why are these strange exhumations necessary--couldn't Jeebus simply make the carcasses poof! materialize instantly in this illegal mortuary?

Come closer. I want to amaze you by pulling a quarter out of your ear.

I am trying to think of a way to comment on this passage in a manner which my great-grandmama would not censure.

Nope. Can't be done.

If this is actually true (but I reserve judgement, due to the lack of truthiness in PC's other assertions so far), I think it's time for the authorities to stage a raid and haul the miscreant off to an insane asylum.

This sounds rather more like Hammer Horror than anything else.
PC, we've already explained there never was a Reneliniyindi.
Angelina Imden and the Helene Curtis Chocolate Factory don't exist either.

KA whistling under a sheet has to be a pathetic thing to witness.
How could anyone be taken in by such antics?

These people have addresses? How do you talk to them?

Okay, further research searching everything from parish registers to ship manifests is not finding any Imdens to match the one family I found, and it looks as though 'Imden' is a transcription error.

This is a section of the 1911 census - I don't think the surname of this family is actually Imden at all.

It says George James ?Imden Boarder [age]38 Widower
Eliza ?Imden 16 Daughter
(crossed out) George ?Imden ?Litchfield school 14 Son (there is no corresponding boarder at Lichfield cathedral school)
Lillian ?Imden 9 Daughter

ETATA It's not Imden, it's Durden. So that's another dead end and it's looking much less likely that this Angelina Imden is British, if she exists at all.

Good detective work, Agatha.

From my end, I've looked into PC's claim that Angelina Imden "was an heiress to the Helene Curtis cosmetics fortune but she relinquished her claim to that fortune." (I also found a post by PC to a newsgroup where he says this was revealed by the Holy Spirit.)

As noted, Helene Curtis was an American company, not an English one. So who were the "heirs to the fortune"?

They were Gerald Gidwitz's (one of the founders) family, who sold the company to Unilever in 1996 (though it had been a public company since the '50s).

Here is his obituary:

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...127_1_helene-curtis-gidwitz-family-mr-gidwitz

Mr. Gidwitz turned over Helene Curtis to his son Ronald in 1979, and later transferred control of Continental Materials to his son James.

Mr. Gidwitz met his wife, Jane Blumenthal, while on business in Philadelphia during World War II. They married in 1944 and settled in Chicago before moving to Highland Park to raise a family. After the children were raised, they moved to the Near North Side in the early 1970s. Mrs. Gidwitz died in 2001.
...
In addition to his son Ronald, who was a Illinois gubernatorial candidate in the 2006 Republican primary, and his son James, other survivors include two more sons, Peter and Thomas; a daughter, Nancy; and nine grandchildren.

No mention of any family connections in England, of anyone named Angelina or Imden, or of any person "relinquishing their claims to the fortune," which you would certainly think would be newsworthy.

What say you, PC?
