They also think Obama is a moderate Republican .

Face it , you never had their vote before Sanders .

You have no knowledge of the actual "left" do you? The progressives have been backing Democrats since Roosevelt's era. Those who are at the convention are merely modern progressives. They're not socialists and don't understand the difference between the Democratic Socialists and from whence they originated versus the Socialist Workers. They know nothing of the socialist/communist movement in the USA and are merely representative of a shift back to the progressive standards that the party used to stand for.

The Dems have always had their vote. The lunatic fringe like myself who usually voted radical third party were an extreme minority. The shift to the middle under Carter, Clinton and Obama is what they're fighting against.

It's not a question of never having their vote... it's a question, to Bernie and his more aligned supporters, of what the party needs to do to re-affirm their support.

And, once again, that's a small faction. The majority of Sanders' supporters are voting Hillary. Unlike the uneducated on the right who vote for Republicans who will keep them in their lower middle class strata, progressives are not stupid enough to vote against their best interests. When the post convention polls are out, I'm going to be pretty certain that the Bernie voter bloc will be at +/- eighty per cent voting Democrat.

That's what the spouses typically do. That's what Melania tried to do though she had to copy Michelle Obama.

Also, Barack Obama is a better orator than Bill Clinton.

I wouldn't go that far Tony. They're different. But I absolutely think Barack knocked it out of the park and was better than Bill on this occasion. The four best orators in my life were JFK, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.. I'd be hard pressed to say who was the best although I think JFK had the greatest speechwriter in the last 100 years. And if you don't think so, pull up JFK's inaugural address and his speech in Berlin "ich bin ein Berliner"

I like how Bill Clinton had to spend an entire convention speech just trying to convince people that Hillary is a human being. Most candidates, that goes without saying. Most candidates, their opening speakers can take that established fact for granted and build on it.

But not the DNC this year. Not the best orator the Democrats have produced in a generation. Nope. Bill Clinton had to devote all his not inconsiderable talents to making sure that Hillary's supporters remember that she's human.

You like that, do you? You must've loved the fact that even having his family try to sell us on Trump's membership in the human race, they couldn't actually come up with any examples other than the now trademarked, "Believe me...". Sonny boy's fondest memories of his dad's influence seem to involve a probably-invented-for-the-purpose forklift driver named "Vinnie". His daughter remembers fondly playing with LEGO in dad's office. No one remembers "dad". Not when they fell down and scraped their knees, the nannies took care of that. Not when they were graduating grammar school, nor high school nor college. Dad was out screwing someone on a real estate deal.

What I've heard in three days is a raft of speakers referring to "my friend, Hillary". Now, you or I or any individual is quite free to say, "well, that's their choice, but I don't like her". But did anyone come along to speak on behalf of their "friend, Donald Trump"? He doesn't have friends; he has business associates, employees, former partners and family. None of them said "friend".

You know who else didn't have friends, don't you? :boxedin:

ETA: Clinton is far from the best orator the party has produced in the last generation. Jessie Jackson, Mario Cuomo, Barack Obama, etc... There have been numerous great speakers on the Democratic side. The big shock in the elections they lost in the past thirty years is that they nominated people who missed that mark by so far.

Sorry, we will have to agree to disagree on that. In fact I don't think Cuomo holds a candle to Bill. Jesse had his moments, but came off like a preacher too much. MLK though was fantastic, also sometimes a bit preachy. But his "I have a dream speech" was the best. Wish I could go back in time to hear Lincoln give the greatest speech in US HIstory. But back to Jackson, if you get a chance, check out Jackson on SNL doing Dr. Seuss "Green Eggs and Ham" Absolutely had me rolling.

What the **** is wrong with those *********** scumbags?

Sadly there is this!

Bernie Delegate Allegedly Assaulted by Hillary Supporter + Other Tales of DNC Unity

:(:mad::(:mad::(

This sucks!
Jerry Ogle was ejected from the DNC in Philadelphia after he was accused of grabbing Amanda Kruel and shouting "act like a Democrat" because she cheered for the Vermont senator.

Ms Kruel booed Clinton after her name was mentioned on Monday and cast her vote for Sanders during the roll call on Tuesday.

"Yesterday I was cheering for Bernie as many others were and there was a guy behind me who was making faces at me," Ms Kruel told The Tennessean.

"There was one point where he grabbed me by the shoulder and he twisted me around and yelled in my face: 'Act like a Democrat.'"

Ms Kruel said she reported the incident on Monday afternoon - shortly after the convention opened - to party officials, who banned Ogle the next morning.

Ogle - a delegate for Clinton from Tennessee - was replaced by a standby state official.

With no regard for facts or reason?

No, because Obama inspired the better angels of our nature not our petty selfish weaknesses.

Because Obama built bridges not walls.

Obama fulfilled King's dream of America judging a black man not by the color of his ski but by the quality of his character.

It's a convention. People get up in each other's face all the time. They did the right thing and when she made a complaint the threw the bum out.

There's also some youtube footage of seemingly DNC rentacops taking away Bernie signs. I think that has to be an overzealous idiot because there are certainly a whole lot of those left.
