TAM London Roll Call

Arriving in London in 10 days! Wooo! I'll be the one speaking PROPER English.
There are several folk around in the week before TAM. If any of you lot run into problems you can call me on my mobile (cell) on 07818 097256. That's without the international code and called from the UK.
Have a blast!
And I think it's safe to add Chillzero to the list of attendees............. :D

Has everyone's tickets arrived? I'm still waiting on mine.

I drink the odd can of Red Bull when I'm on a long car journey, and they're great for that, but I'm worried by the number of young people I see swigging it down like water all day long. It's the soft drink (and mixer) du jour, and has resulted in a number of copycat products, including one (Monster?) in a half litre can which has now led to Red Bull bringing out a half litre can of its own. That's an awful lot of caffeine, almost like necking half a pack of Pro Plus (which I did once on a school trip to Stratford on Avon, but that's another story). I wonder what the long term effects are of high-level caffeine intake in 12-20 year-olds...

This afternoon I purchased a 710ml can of energy drink, I'll let you know how it was if I survive it.

I took note.

Turns out that I don't need a visa to enter the UK for touristic purposes. I checked on the web HERE, and also with a fellow Chilean citizen who visited a short time ago.

But I read somewhere on the above link, that I have to convince the officials at the police checkpoint that I'm indeed a visitor on a short stay. All the paperwork I'll take with me is a printout of my flights itinerary, .... and now I have a cell phone number. Nice :).

I got my badge yesterday. Of course this means that Norway is closer to London by mail than Glasgow or London is.

According to the twitter stream, the last badges were sent yesterday.

Patricio,
You should also make sure to bring with you a printout of any accomodation receipt, and probably some TAM information close to hand as well. They may also ask you to show some proof you have some money you can use while here.

Thanks for the tips, Gib. I'll do that, I have both the hotel and TAM receipts.

Are they definitely sending it? There's usually the option of collecting it from the ticket office before the match.

They are supposed to be. I bought it several weeks ago. I'm taking the receipt, just in case. My game Tuesday night the 29th I'm getting at the will call window.

Train ticket is booked, and so is the hostel.
Now I just need my badge and I'm good to go.

Hey, this is like next weekend. I should get around to booking a hostel or something.

I notice people have mostly been talking about football and museums and touristy things. Is anyone up for just finding a pub or something similar on the Friday evening and steadfastly avoiding all things touristy?

Also, since when did "touristy" become a real word? I'm not used to having spellcheckers accept things I've just made up.
