That said, everyone is going to be centred around the venue.

In that case, the choice is of two:

1) the founders arms

Pros:
* Fantastic nightime views of the river
* Tonnes of seating

Cons:
* A tad ugly
* A few minutes walk over the millenium bridge

2) The Black Friar

Pros:
* Guest beers available
* Interesting art deco interior

Cons:
* It's a bit small.

So only two venues to check if you're looking for other people.

I find the The Black Friar's con to be acceptable. Unless all 400 (600?) of us decide to go there for a drink, in which case I fear the Founders Arms won't be up to the task either ...

Also, does nighttime view of the river mean you can also enjoy the smell of the river?

I find the Thames doesn't smell very much, well not compared with the Orwell. Perhaps my node is attuned to the stink.

OK, perhaps we should have a pub policy of meeting at the Black Friar, and nominate all of the surrounding pubs as overflow pubs.
 
No badge yet for me either, but I will not start to panic. If I keep telling myself that maybe it will become true. :)

Now I have to read the thread to find out what that magic night someone mentioned is about.

So, how to find the correct table? Reservations, maybe?
Or should we simply don the fashionable white and purple TAM badges?
A sign with "woo free zone" or something...?
What time should people converge for this fine, beery, skeptic hive assimillation?
