TAM London Roll Call

There's definitely good ol' swine flu around in London, but there (also?) appears to be an unpleasant but mild respiratory virus which is characterised by a vicious sore throat for a couple of days followed by a few more days of aches, pains and general fatigue, but it's generally considered not to be the Real Thing. Since doctors aren't actually testing for swine flu in most cases and relying on symptom-matching, with emphasis on fever to indicate swine flu, (and this virus, which I've had, doesn't seem to induce a high fever) it's anyone's guess as to what's really being passed around.

Anyway don't let that worry you. Enjoy London! Enjoy TAM! Don't die! I'll see you all there from Saturday because my pesky social life is keeping me busy before that...

I'm just coming off a really sore throat. I'm coughing a bit but I'm pretty much ok now. I feel really bad for Rat if he's about to start going through what I went through this weekend.

There we go, in London and checked in to Club Quarters, St Paul :)
Now I only need a adapter for my strange power supply so the laptop don't run out...
I have one, and I am staying in the same hotel. Contact me if you need to borrow it.

It's probably that actually; I'd expect it to be worse by now if it were flu. To be honest, it's quite probably just my agoraphobia finding a way to get out of sitting in a room with hundreds of people for hours, so I'll try to ignore it.

I have an air sick bag if that'll make you feel better.

Looks like I'll be arriving a little earlier than I thought, so I could be at the Founder's Arms as early as 7:30. Hopefully I'll be the one with a large plate of meat.

Also posting from Club Quarters (it's very nice) - we're off to look for pizza, then Founders Arms later

tim and I were at the Founders' Arms this evening, (6:30-7:30 PM is evening for us 1older folks...) and can recommend that it is pretty large with outside seating right next to the thames. Unfortunately, the direct Riverwalk is closed off so you need to be creative to get there, but once the weekday crowd thins out, it is a very suitable locale.

I have to apologise for not making it to the founders arms tonight. I went to the camden head, then the penderels oak, then the black friar.

However, the pub crawl on wednesday, and the late night session at Doggets bar on Thursday have caught up with me... I was beginning to drift in and out of conciousness.

See some of you guys tomorrow!

Incidentally, while the underpass is closed, the easiest way to get to the black friar is to walk to the millenium bridge, and cross there.. the millenum bridge is to the east of the blackfriars bridge.

Apologies for cross-posting:
I'd also like to get a group photo of everyone who has an RSL T-shirt or cap already, so we can send that over to Robert and Susan, so everyone who already ordered, please remember to pack them!!

:)

I seem to have managed to volunteer myself to organise this, so could everybody with www.stopsylvia.com t-shirts/caps/whatever bring them along tomorrow, please?

I'm planning to do the photo at the end of proceedings - meet up in foyer area.
