Moon Hoax conspiracy

ERichardson,

Why have you, apparently, misrepresented yourself to this forum? In your original post you stated
I just watched a film called "a funny thing happened on the way to the moon." It was my first exposure to moon conspiracies and it was very compelling.
. However, it is clear, from the ensuing discussion, that you are quite familiar with the subject matter and have strong opinions on it.

This, apparent, misrepresentation on your part has caused forum members to approach this thread from an angle of, "this person has questions and would like answers"; whereas your posts have made it clear that how you appear to be approaching the thread is, "the Apollo missions are a hoax."

May I respectfully suggest that you just clearly state what opinions you may have and then have a discussion based on evidence.

I didn't say it was. My point is that there were none of these fatal malfunctions 30 years earlier during 6 missions with less sophisticated equipment travelling a thousand times further.

1. Grissom, White, Chafee died in Apollo 1 while it was on the launch pad during drills. Accidents can happen ANYWHERE.

2. Lovell, Swigert, Haise simply got lucky with the Apollo 13 explosion, two hundred thousand miles out from the Earth. Luck, and tremendous work and improvising are what brought them back home. From a statistical perspective - they should have perished in the Command Module.

Please bear in mind the new guidelines for the CT forum. Be civil and polite.

Ah, have you forgotten that there where more than 6 shuttle missions, and that as they have shown the most dangerous parts are take off and landing not the trip in space?

Wow! What a sensationalist, emotionally manipulative piece of paranoid crap. The "science" behind Sibrel's claims has all been debunked long ago.

Check this out. It's not specifically about the documentary in question but it addresses many of the issues raised.

Then there's this.

And this is revealing.

I must admit I was mistaken. I felt for sure it would be three pages before the real troll emerged. Turned out to be less than two.

What on earth have I done that could be classed as trolling? If you don't like the thread then don't read it.

Cheaper to fake it, and claim victory.

Please explain how we did that while managing to fool the vast majority of reputable scientists around the world? I really like to know how we faked it with the whole world (much of it hostile) watching.

Oh, and tell me how those 800 lbs. of Moon rocks came into being. That was a really nifty trick!

What do the 2 Russian examples have to do with it?

You feel the need to limit the discussion to American endevours?

OK,Apollo 1, three dead
Apollo 13 near disaster

So out of 17 missions and 51 astronauts and 3 dead, 3 nearly killed.

Space travel was then and still is now a very dangerous endevour.

Have you read through the clavius site yet?

I assure you he has no intention of reading the clavius site or any other link, evidence, or other references we provide. That is not the nature of the game...or haven't you figured that out yet?

What on earth have I done that could be classed as trolling?

1) You misrepresented yourself on the opening post. You have a full box of hoaxer beliefs.

2) You are obviously emotionally attached to the hoax claims.

3) You are not looking at the source material, or if you are you are specifically avoiding discussing it, since you want to continue with hoax claims.

4) You obviously give much greater weight and claim to some of the hoax claims: i.e. saying that the astronauts are discussing 'faking the shot'.

5) You demonstrate extensive knowledge of recent changed to forum rules, indicating you are familiar with the goings-on in here.

Around these parts, saying you want an explantion and ignoring said explanation is grounds for being called a troll.

For the record, I will keep destroying your silly hoax claims, as it is good to have a record of said claims being debunked.

I much prefer the Moon Hoax to the 9/11 stuff. The claims are about on an equal level of stupid, but the debunkings are a lot more fun to read.

In 1969 computer chips had not been invented. The maximum computer memory was 256k, and this was housed in a large air conditioned building.

So what? Technicaly you could get to moon with zero computeing power by doing all the maths by hand

In 2002 a top of the range computer requires at least 64 Mb of memory to run a simulated Moon landing,

Um back in the mid 90s I ran them on systems with 4MB and thaat was hardly putting the system under stress. Simulations are meaningless though since they had the real thing to play with. The right brothers couldn't run computer sims of their flights did they not happen?

and that does not include the memory required to take off again once landed.

You can use the same memory or just do the whole thing manualy. It's a non issue.

The alleged computer on board Apollo 11 had 32k of memory. That's the equivalent of a simple calculator.

You can do a lot with 32K if you don't have to worry about a fancy GUI. Certianly newtonian physics which is all you need for a moon landing (don't even have to allow for air resitance).

You haven't destroyed anything. You claimed there was no temperature in space.

You carry on "destroying" me and i'll just put you on ignore if that's ok.
