How do pagans celebrate Christmas?

I don't know what God might do with my life. I just try to share what I have learned with others. I realize more people reject God than accept He is sovereignty. I will just try to be a light to this dark world.

Translation:

I will preach condescending crap more and more.

I can't wait to be in heaven, but I know it's His timing in each of our lives. He is the giver of life.
And I too get sad when I think about children to were murdered. Death is part of life. Only God knows what He is trying to accomplish through some of the pain and sufferings in this life? He's the only one that has those answers.
But when I think of what happened to all those baby boys that were murdered by king Harrod. That was obvious. That's an example of a man who hurt many because he was ruled by his own sin. He killed innocent children...not God. We are suppose to look at that bad example of a human being, and choose not to become like Harrod. He wanted to be God. He wanted to be the King of the Jews. It did cost him his life and eternity. Good example of what not to do. I'm sure hell is really tormenting for Harrod. According to a mans deeds in this life shall one be judged!
It's really interesting that you bring up Herod. Ya know, of all the edicts that he passed down, that "killing the first born male" one..didn't quite seem to make the cut as far as making it into the hisotry books.

Also, it's not quite what was meant. Ya see...when the Isrealites would go on their little skirmishes, they would slaughter the infants. They're too troublesome to cary back, and you don't really wan to leave them behind, so you kill them. So, this isn't an allegedly psychotic despot, or stubborn ruler that's doing the infanticide, it's God's "special chosen people".

Did you even READ what I had to say?

Or are you just going to preach more, offend, and cry martyr when you get picked on?

Do you honestly think we would all get down on our knees and convert for you?

You might try reading your Bible sometime, Kathy--you seem kuriously (heh) uninformed about your choice of religion.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. " Ephesians 2:8-9

According to that pesky Bible, you're judged on faith, not works.

Your world must be a really really unpleasant one. Everything is dark, everyone is an evil sinner, (unless, of course, they happen to believe what you tell them), and your life consists of preaching nonsense to people who don't want to hear it.

I have no superstitious fantasies, I'm not afraid of life after death, there isn't any. I accept people the way I find them, good or bad and the world is a rather fascinating place with lots of fun and excitement in it. Frankly, I think you have ended up with the sh!tty end of the stick.

Hey, KK, could you preach at us some more...we REALLY like it.

Hey, asking her not to didn't work....

Cleon, seriously, this is a HUGE debate in Christian circles. Faith v. works is about the same rivalry as the Chicago Bears v. the Green Bay Packers (or fill in major sporting rivalry in your neck of the woods)

Well Harod blew it, and all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. This doesn't change the fact that He is faithful to forgive us if we come to the cross. Jesus is the only one who can forgive us. Every single person that ever lived was and is a sinner that only God's grace can save, but we must believe in Jesus and what He did on that cross. I know it's true.
It's the ones that don't care and keep on sinning that are in trouble when God's judgement comes upon this earth. The first coming of Christ was to save the world...the second coming will be for judgement. I myself am covered by the blood of the lamb...what about you? This is crucial!

Of course, there's also
“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?” -James 2:14

So on one hand, the Bible says you can be saved on faith alone, and on the other it takes faith and works. Just one contradiction in the Bible that Kathy and her ilk say isn't really there.

Kathy, I really don't want to begin a dialog with you, but I have to satisfy my curiosity. If you replace the word "God" in your posts with, say, "Allah", does that negate the point? Do you feel that anyone who would preach to you about "Allah's plan for you lighting up the dark" would be persuasive? If not, then why? Why are your beliefs more reasonable than theirs? What makes you feel that your beliefs are right and everyone else is wrong?

I mean, seriously. Is it because that the people around you agree with you? If people around you told you the sky was chartreuse, would you eventually agree with them? If the people around you told you that you were actually a man rather than a woman, would you be persuaded? I imagine the answer to all those questions is "no". If that's the case, why would you answer no? Is it because you have evidence to the contrary? If yes, then why do you believe in something that there is no evidence for at all?

Don't get me wrong, you could still be right about everything you're saying, I accept that possibility. But isn't it just as important to be right using the right methodology? I could pick stocks by throwing darts at a list and make money; wouldn't I be better served though to do market research and pick that way? It seems to me that you are on a hike, so to speak, and you are staring at your feet the entire way. You may end up at your intended destination, but how would you know it's the best path there?

I don't really expect an answer to any of my questions or any serious introspection on your part, which is fine too. I don't seek to convert anyone to a particular point of view, as it doesn't really serve me. I am more concerned with the callousness you've shown in vomiting your views all over anyone within reaching distance. If you can though, I would appreciate some answers if you can offer them without preaching or quoting scriptures. Just your own words if you feel you're up to it. If not, I understand, really.

Yes, and my grandmother "knows" that my grandfather has been visiting her, despite the fact that he died ten years ago.

I myself am covered by the blood of the lamb...what about you? This is crucial!

Personally, I find the idea of covering myself in blood to be disgusting. But I'm weird like that.

You know it? Not believe, but know?

OK, let's see some proof. Not preaching, proof.

I myself am covered by the blood of the lamb...what about you? This is crucial!

You're covered in lamb's blood? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew, gross!

:D

Why do you insist on preaching at us? Are you so incredibly dim that you simply can't realise we don't believe your nonsense?

Wake up. Hello? Anyone home? You're trying to sell us something we don't want, don't need and don't even believe exists!

Take your shoddy vapourware elsewhere or prove it exists.

As a moral person (well most of the time ;) ) I prefer to judge a person by their actions not by who they pay lip service to.

You're wasting your time. I've seen a few people ask her this question, and she never answers. Of course, straight answers aren't Kathy's strong point.

YEAH!!!!! She preached some more to us!! YEAH!!! I was worried there for a moment. When I'd pressed F5 a few times and didn't see a response at all. I was afraid that she would actually start to respond with something besides declaritive statments. But, I went to another forum for abit, came back and she'd preached to us....ahhhhhh, all is right with the world.

Ok, KK, did you miss the part where I said that Herod wasn't the one in question? God told ye old Isrealites (God's "special chosen people", remember?) to go off and slaughter the infants. not Herod, Isrealites. I know the two words are very similar, what being spelled with letters and all, but please try to see the difference.

Thank you for your continued support.

Great post Levantine! Welcome to the forum!

Genesius,
To be fair, thinking isn't her strong point. We'll leave answers out of it for the moment.

Believe me, I know. But there's that stubborness in me that just believes that maybe I can say something she'll understand over all the other posts she's read. A bit arrogant to be sure, but that's my natural curiosity. I do recognize from reading her threads going all the way back to earlier in the year that I wont get a straight or even legible answer.

Still, sometimes it's nice to really understand the person you're dealing with is a bit touched in the head rather than just misunderstanding your point. It makes /ignore a bit easier.
