Now that the Trump administration has come out in favor of Iran having ballistic missiles, I thought it would be fun to check in on what some of the brightest minds on this forum and advocates of this war had to say about the existential threat that Iran poses as justification for the war:

Well Ziggurat is holding out hope that the MOU just isn’t finished yet and presumably will be much more favourable by the end.

The prestige has agreed with me that Trump is a hopelessly incompetent negotiator and has never believed otherwise.

Jts12 hasn’t responded to requests for comment. I’m assuming he is grieving the end of the war. For him it is like someone cancelling the World Cup.
 
yeah probably. i think tucker has been openly anti israel for some more reasonable reasons for a while now, fuentes was mad trump wasn't hard enough on immigrants and not authoritarian enough i believe. idk i could be wrong, i don't really follow them that much. i would assume he's going to get thoroughly roasted on this deal by everyone tho
 
More to the point, what are all those who claimed the war was all about Trump cowing to Israel's demands saying now? Now that, in Israel's words: "Trump has capitulated to Iran" and no one outside of the Trumpist cult believes his proclamation that the deal constitutes the "unconditional surrender" of Iran?
To me, it just confirms what I thought all along, that Trump is just enjoying his imagined complete control over the planet and he just arbitrarily decided to exercise the military powers just to see what he could get away with. When he realized it completely failed and will make a midterm slaughter more likely--with impeachment to follow--he just arbitrarily decided to do a 180 and tell the cult that this was the plan all along. I doubt he is seriously worried about the midterms anyways since he surely is planning to either fix the result or cancel the elections. That is simply easier to do if the public is placated by gas prices under $5 a gallon, which was gonna be an impossibility if the war continued,
 
well, iran could be slow rolling the guy and every nation on earth was drawing from their strategic reserves to avoid an energy crisis that will be even more strained under the ai buildout that's propping the stock market up. i think a lot of people are interested in seeing him gone.

By Ben Gvir, maybe? This man is a complete psychopath. This man should simply be thrown out of any half-way sane government. The fact he is still in there tells you all you need to know about Netanyahu.
