References

74. Howard Lutnick: "The best way to actually merge the economies of Canada and the United States is for Canada to become our 51st state ... Canada is gonna have to work with us to really integrate their economy, and as the president said, they should consider the amazing advantages of being the 51st state."

75. "He [Justin Trudeau] thought he'd be the big man and tackle Donald Trump, but you know you can't tackle Donald Trump. He's the most important, the smartest, the most capable leader in the world."

76. Allina Habba: "Foreign students are not allowed to"hand out pamphlets in our country and try to infiltrate those terroristic thoughts ... and if you bring that into our country, you can get the hell out."

Conversely if Theresa May hadn't been in constant fear of the ERG head bangers in her own party she might have been the competent & half decent (for a Tory) PM that many desperately hoped she would be. Of course the another big difference is that in the UK the general public don't have a direct vote on the PM in the UK.
I don't think May could ever have been competent; remember, she's still the worst home secretary in the history of that position.

DEI, VA and MAGA dude has it explained. He thinks the VA is a corporation.
The funniest thing about that whole argument, without DEI you can guarantee that the best job the lad arguing with him will get is street sweeper, though given his intellect even tha may be beyond him.

There goes my 401K! But at least I can always rely on Social Security and Medicare....
My TSP is is declining also. Most of it is in G fund which creeps a bit higher each year. 15% is in C fund which rides the Common Stock Index roller coaster; right now it is going to hell.

I was watching YouTube videos this morning and Seth Myers covered a CNN report that highlighted that Trump's approval rating was the second lowest ever (only he has done worse).

I was shocked to find that his approval rating is still positive which highlights a couple of things to me.

MAGA isn't a 20% fringe, it represents close to 50% of the US population. Any analysis that fails to take this into account is flawed. As such Trump and Musk are doing exactly what a large minority of people want them to do

Some so called swing voters are nothing of the sort.

The President of the United States has become a car salesman:

In his hand is a note with various prices for the different models and at the end it says "Teslas can be purchased for as little as $299/month or $35K. All cars have self driving, just needs to be turned on (fee)."

(Close in shots of the note he's holding if you follow the link)

Remind me of who works for whom again? Does Musk work for Trump or is it the other way around?

It's lucky you guys don't have laws against using governmental buildings to promote private interests isn't it? Oh, wait..

I don't think May could ever have been competent; remember, she's still the worst home secretary in the history of that position.

Maybe, she'd still have been an improvement on those that followed her though & it's hard to believe she'd have persued the hard Brexit trajectory she did without the constant threat of the ERG.

I may have missed something but what is Don’s reason for wanting to make Canada the “cherished fifty-first state”? He continually says we don’t need this, that, and the other thing from them. Why make Canada a state? It sounds as if Canada is useless so what’s the point? Will Canada suddenly be wonderful when it is admitted to the union? Will the things Canada provides be ok then?
Trampy's hero made Germany great again by taking over Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, France, etc. He just wants to be seen in the same light.

Just imagine if it was decided, does he think (yeah I know) it would happen within his remaining term sorry lifetime?

The New Republic reported, "The FBI is moving to criminalize groups like Habitat for Humanity for receiving grants from the Environmental Protection Agency under the Biden administration. Citibank revealed in a court filing Wednesday that it was told to freeze the groups’ bank accounts at the FBI’s request. The reason? The FBI alleges that the groups are involved in “possible criminal violations,” including “conspiracy to defraud the United States.”

“The FBI has told Citibank that recipients of EPA climate grants are being considered as potentially liable for fraud. That is, the Trump administration wants to criminalize work on climate science and impacts,” the @capitolhunters account wrote Wednesday on X. “An incoming administration not only cancels federal grants but declares recipients as criminals. All these grantees applied under government calls FOR ENVIRONMENTAL WORK, were reviewed and accepted. Trump wants to jail them."" Things just keep getting stranger.

Didn't you answer your own question there? If the S&P is sinking over 6 months you should be buying into it before it rises again. We may not like the idiotgasm going on, but at the very least we may as well make a profit off it.

Then again, there’s that maxim, “Never try to catch a falling knife.”

You never know where “the bottom” is. And for individual stocks there may be no bottom. I learned my lesson with Enron and Pan Am, buying on the way down assuming they had to recover eventually. Hint: they didn’t.

Trump: I’m not allowed to drive because I haven’t driven a car in a long time. I love to drive cars. But I’m going to have it at The White House and I’m going to let my staff use it. I’m not allowed to use it.

I hope they made him pay cash in adavance

Trampy must be seriously unwell if he's bedn stopped from driving, either that or legally blind.

Oh, I'd never buy individual stocks. I meant index funds. If the S&P drops down and stays down for decades then we'll have much bigger problems than our individual retirement accounts.
