I can' t buy the "Trump Is A Puppet" angle. I despise Trump as much as anybody here, but to write him off as a puppet is a big mistake.

No. It all it takes is enough Republican governments to play certification games and then tell a story about the last guy stays on base until everything is resolved to Trump’s satisfaction. Some people will take up arms. The Reps suggest martial law.

Will they do that with Trump? Doubtfull. Will they try some of these shenanigans with the heir apparent? Eh knows.



The other approach is assert 2020 was stolen so DJT should get four mores years without an election.
Sure it’s goofy, but since when has goofy ever been a bridge-too-far for the GOP.

Trump definitely isn't puppet material. His own would-be handlers fear him.

Vance will be a good Deep State puppet though, the real Deep State, the rightwingers trying to overturn our system.

The right wing idiots are much more dangerous then the left wing idiots, though that might change.
You don't have a large number of left wing idiots who want a dictatorship like you do on the right. though I am concerned about that some of the hard left seem to be taking the authoratarian path. But they are not a clear and present danger the way the right is.
ANd, yes, I get annoyed on the way some here seem to want to deny there are some pretty radical people on the political left.

The right is far more an immediate danger, but the left has it's share of extremists. Both are bad news. And so far, the left wing extremists have not made much progress in making themsleves a power in the Demoratic party, (though they make a lot of noise) but the exremiest in the GOP Have taken over.

I am truing to avoid being a Pollyanna like the OP here, and being apocaluyptic like some here. But I think Democracy is not as easy to kill..at least in the US...as some here think.
