Trump 2.0 won't be as bad as they say

They're symbiotic! One of the most laughable things about Trumpists is that when you point out to them that Trump is neither Republican nor Conservative, and that the Reagans, Bushes, Cheneys, Romneys McCains, etc etc all denounce him, they respond "Hahahaha--you don't get it--those guys are all part of the swamp!"
And that's their shallow level of understanding in a nutshell. They sincerely believe Trump is 'outside' the system (even though he played it to his every advantage) and so he is their savior. Forgetting completely that he is every bit the politician that a Reagan was or any other political figure. They'd rather listen to Hulk Hogan than Jesse Ventura cause Hogan never held office. It's pure stupidity.
This has been a thing for a while though, the GOP base has hated the GOP establishment almost as much as they hate the Dem establishment for probably a decade before Trump, they just didn't have a candidate to voice their hate.

Biden ripped the bandage off.

He ****** up the withdrawl. There's no ifs, ands, or buts. Maybe there was no way to do it perfectly, but we didn't just not do it perfectly, we did it badly. Really, really badly. We were not prepared. There were a TON of issues where we were just caught completely flat-footed, and we shouldn't have been.

That's not Trump's fault.

Well, no, if the base of a party despises the party, they aint "the base"!
Reagan and the Bushes were wildly popular to the GOP base.
Trumpism evolved out of disgust by some conservatives and anti-government folk (including many Libertarians) that the Clintons and Obamas of the world weren't being 'put in their place'. It was a populist movement and no doubt Trump fit the bill as an 'outsider' --but 'establishment' candidates like Mitch McConnell still held power despite their disgust with Trump; it was not the GOP base per se that forced him and others to bow to Trump--it was a segment of that base that was significant enough that the old guard knew they had to be appeased in order for the traditionalists to maintain any power at all.

LOL, you can argue all day about just how "badly" it was (really, really--or just really?) but the bottom line is Biden's administration *admits* it made mistakes!
Can you ever, ever, ever, really really ever imagine Trump admitting to a mistake and learning from it??
Of course not--and That *is* Trump's fault!

Fascinating that the US military command designated the details of the withdrawal to Biden They must recognize him as being more somewhat more competent than themselves at military logistics.

So why are you denying it then?

and this is what the gop base wanted instead? alright

or they’re like “i really hate these lying politicians always ripping us off” and now they’re buying trump nfts and sneakers and watches while blaming mexicans for all their problems

I really doubt that.
That would mean ripping up the constituion, and even some GOPers will balk at that.

It's against the best interests of every Republican that dreams of becoming President themselves.

FTFY. They don't care where they're from as long as they're brown or black.

Trump 2.0 will be much worse. Here's hoping it doesn't happen, but I'm increasingly fearful.

Cool. Now do Trump’s pandemic response and let’s see just how objective your definition of “really, really badly” is. Because something tells me it’s not very.

I didn't say it was Trumps fault. The basic assumption was that the existing American backed regime would not collapse in one day. Trillions of dollars had been spent creating it. The fault was those who created a situation that had no easy way out. Trump just avoided the problem and kicked the can down the road.

Oh, Trump absolutely ****** that up.

First and foremost among those fuckups, he trusted Fauci.

Fauci was right.

Right about what? Was he right when he said that the public shouldn't wear masks because they aren't effective for the general public? Or was he right when he said that everyone should wear masks?

Then there are the deliberate lies, like his attempts to cover up the lab leak hypothesis, which he knew was possible but pretended wasn't because he was partly to blame for it.

Or how about school shutdowns? He wasn't right about that, and that seriously hurt children with little if any health benefit.

Oh good grief, have you really fallen that hard for the right wing propaganda?

You had better provide exact quotes and citations for those supposed Fauci remarks in your first paragraph, since I've heard Trumpists trot those out frequently without a shred of evidence he ever said those things.

And if you (apparently) believe the lab leak hypothesis has been proven, you'd better present your proof. Fauci (and most experts)*still* maintains that a natural origin was more likely than lab leak, and he never completely rejected the possibility. If you can prove "deliberate lie" have at it!

Fauci did concede mistakes were made--shocking, given that it was a novel situation and the science evolved rapidly. Unlike Trumpists who double down on their mistakes and insist they have never been wrong about anything.

And I'm still waiting for proof I said Biden didn't make mistakes in Afghanistan...ignoring my request doesn't make it go away.
