Merged Trump shot in PA??

It goes beyond "name calling". There have been open calls for Trump to be "eliminated" by Democrat politicians (Dan Goldman). There have been open calls from President Biden saying "Trump is a threat to Democracy" and recently "It's time to put Trump in the bullseye." He described Trump as "a genuine threat to this Nation". It goes much further but those are simply a few off the top of my head.

Goldman apologized and walked back that comment the next day:

Yesterday on TV, I mistakenly used the wrong word to express the importance for America that Donald Trump doesn’t become President again.

While he must be defeated, I certainly wish no harm to him and do not condone political violence.

I apologize for the poor choice of words.

Trump never, ever, apologizes or admits being wrong.

Now some Democrat staffer of Bennie Thompson has been quoted as saying the shooter "should get some shooting lessons so he didn't miss next time."

And I recall reading similar statements on this very forum. Vile, violent rhetoric that promotes political violence again, as intended.

I agree. But your outrage rings hollow when you ignore the violent rhetoric that has come from the right. Not only their rhetoric, but their actions. Have you forgotten Jan. 6? The plan to kidnap and kill Gov. Whitmer? The death threats to the two election workers that Trump, Giuliani, et al claimed were committing election fraud?
"After Trump lost the 2020 election, Reuters documented hundreds of threats to local election officials by Trump supporters enraged by his false claims that the election was rigged. A Reuters investigation published in May found that violent threats against judges handling Trump’s various criminal and civil trials spiked after the former president criticized those judges in speeches or social-media posts."

The violent rhetoric of the Left has clearly led the "impressionable" to seek assassination of President Trump. As was intended IMO. These have been open calls to invite assassination and lately remorse that the attempt failed.

Most of the political violence comes from the Right, not Left:

A Reuters analysis of more than 200 incidents of politically motivated violence between 2021 and 2023, however, presented a different picture: In those years, fatal political violence more often emanated from the American right than from the left.
The U.S. is embroiled in the most sustained spate of political violence since a decade of upheaval that began in the late 1960s, Reuters found in that report published last year. That violence has come from across the ideological spectrum, and includes extensive attacks on property during left-wing political demonstrations. But attacks on people -- from beatings to killings -- were perpetrated mostly by suspects acting in service of right-wing political beliefs and ideology.

Certainly Trump has called for an end to the illegal immigrant invasion of our Country. And he has certainly called Biden "the worst President in US history" but never has he called for either to be "put in the bullseye" or be "eliminated". There's a difference between political rhetoric and violent political rhetoric. It's time to learn the difference.

Biden has also said he regrets using that term last week and that it was poor choice of words. Some people can admit mistakes. Extreme narcissists like Trump can't.

"President Trump retweeted a video that shows him striking Hillary Clinton in the back with a golf ball."

"A Florida gun store that made headlines last year when it declared itself a "Muslim-free zone" is now selling shooting targets that depict President Barack Obama as well as Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders."

I realize that some outside the US may have opinions based on their political beliefs, I also realize some of those same people may despise the US for whatever reason they choose or have personal agendas they wish to further. I'm not interested in the views of those people. I'm interested in US Democrats and their supporters either toning down the violent rhetoric and assassination attempts or risk awakening the monster. This is the US, we are better than this type of behavior, if one decides they are not better than this type of behavior, then those individuals do not deserve the privilege of citizenship.

What's that saying about people who live in glass houses and throwing rocks?

What you have failed to point out is any part that Trump called for these people to be "eliminated" or "put in a bullseye". I understand it may be too much to ask. I believe some cannot see thru the thick veil of hatred they currently have for Trump and his supporters. Violent rhetoric has become the normal talking point for many. I would ask those folks to do better.

Stop with the gaslighting. During a campaign rally, Trump said of Hillary Clinton, "If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know."
Trump is infamous for his mob-speak and dog-whistles. He incites hatred and violence without actually coming out and saying it. But his supporters heard it just fine when he called them to the Capitol to 'Stop the Steal' on Jan 6 when he tweeted "

Oath Keeper Kelly Meggs tweeted: "Trump said It's gonna be wild!!!!!!! It's gonna be wild!!!!!!! He wants us to make it WILD that's what he's saying. He called us all to the Capitol and wants us to make it wild!!! Sir Yes Sir!!! Gentlemen we are heading to DC pack your s***!!"

"Gina Bisignano of California replied directly to Trump's "will be wild" tweet, and posted, "I'll be there," according to federal court records.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Bisignano allegedly entered Capitol grounds and filmed herself saying, "we are storming the Capitol. And I'm going up in there, I'm going to break into Congress." "You are not going to take away our Trumpy bear!"

Yes, so you say, and you usually go on to imply that at some point Progressives are going to metamorphose into frothing at the mouth fanatics that go on bloody rampages. That hasn't happened so far, and it hasn't happened here - it was a brownshirt taking a shot at Hilter. So where in your fantasies of civil war 2: electric boogaloo, do they both fit?

You seem pretty confused as towthat I think.
Actually, I have impled that armer resistence to a Trump dictatorhip might be a necessity. A last resort which we are along way from being at, but a last resort never the less.
And you dodge by point you can hate and despise Trump and not be as far to the left as the "Progressives" are.

I think you watch too many movies. Yes, they likely have his electronic devices. He may or may not have purged them earlier or threw some out and even if he hasn't, they'll need to unlock his passwords for devices\apps. That takes time if they brute force it or require a warrant if they need assistance from the maker.

TV Hacking in a few seconds is not real life.

It's been a lot more than a few seconds. They have accessed his phone.

Those are interesting Leftist Media articles and opinion pieces. I wonder if you actually read any of them? I did. In most cases the rhetoric sited within the articles came from online forums. Imagine that. Quoting online forum posts from those claiming to be angry Trump supporters immediately after the NY conviction of Trump. Yet not one call for political violence from the Trump campaign or Republicans in the news. I'll place a link at the bottom concerning forum posts.

I think my favorite so far has been the WaPo article. They specifically mention the term "Bloodbath" and go to great lengths to convince the reader what Trump "might have meant" rather than pointing out the real context of Trump's use of that term for the auto industry. Dishonesty and Leftist opinion pieces are a poor example of violent political rhetoric. Most of these articles were akin to "I heard" and "somebody said" most know these as the two biggest liars in town.

I would suggest everyone consider that the demand for violent political rhetoric from the Right has exceeded the supply. Here's a good look at what happens when this occurs:

I'm sorry, I don't pay much attention to Bogative's posts, which is probably why I missed it. I would point out that I didn't flame the two people who called attention to the fact that Samson was taken in by an obviously fake video of Breakfast hosts allegedly laughing about the assassination attempt after I'd already done so.
Fake?
There were complaints made to the BSA.
It seemed prescient.
New Zealand media are youngsters larping as senior journalists.

If you want to look at rhetoric from sides of the political divide, dear MTG is the first place to go:

We are in a battle between GOOD and EVIL

The Democrats are the party of pedophiles, murdering the innocent unborn, violence, and bloody, meaningless, endless wars.

They want to lock up their political opponents, and terrorize innocent Americans who would tell the truth about it.

The Democrat party is flat out evil, and yesterday they tried to murder President Trump.

Pretty clear you defintion of leftist media is anything that is not as far right as Fox News, etc.
Hint: ifyou want us to take you seriously, cite a cource more objective then Fox News.

Is the story true? Regardless of the cited Media source, is it factual and accurate? Did a Democrat impersonate someone online and send himself threatening comments? Facts matter.

He's a Republican in PA. Let me see if I can muster up some surprise....

Nope.

I'm sure all those "thoughts and prayers" are making the shooting victims' families feel so much better.

I've seen a couple of articles that claim that the shooter's father is registered as a Libertarian.

I am not sure this will have that much of a political impact, given what we know about the shooter.
