Trump says he's going to make a "whole different speech" on Thursday at the convention, in a change from the "humdinger" he had planned he will bring the country together.

Extremely smart on his part. His crowd is already riled up, he doesn't need to give anything to his base anymore - they are in his pocket.
He will of course send everyone else to attack, just avoid him doing it personally for as long as he can hold it.

But people on the sidelines might react better to a "heal the nation" campaign.

Basically, he'll eat his cake and have it too.

It struck me the same when I heard about the plans to revise the speech. Extraordinarily savvy.

He's going lay on the statesman/forgive-them-father-for-they-know-not-what-they-do kingly benevolence act so thick delegates will be throwing their granny panties onto the stage during the 80-minute long closing ovation.

Indeed. From that hanidcapped reporter he mocked, his using the term dog to describe female political opponents, to his racist dog whistles, no one dehumanizes quite like Trump.

Maybe. You'd think they would have found it by now. They'll be searching all of his devices naturally. He is only 20, so who knows how active he was online. It probably wouldn't go back too many years.

I would have thought just about all 20 year olds have an online presence these days, so I'm surprised they haven't found anything by now.

Someone has synchronized videos from the live feed and the crowd outside of the rally where individuals are pointing out the shooter as he is climbing onto the roof.

Spectators were warning law enforcement for at least 2 minutes prior to shots being fired.

Both single gun shots had a remarkable effect on history, I could say more, but why labour the obvious point?

If Trump had been killed, you might be onto something. But that still would have been more like the assassination of Huey Long^WP, a populist demagogue who might have challenged FDR for the Democratic nomination in 1936, IMO.

I'm sorry, I don't pay much attention to Bogative's posts, which is probably why I missed it. I would point out that I didn't flame the two people who called attention to the fact that Samson was taken in by an obviously fake video of Breakfast hosts allegedly laughing about the assassination attempt after I'd already done so.

So two minutes. Earlier reports had it at about five minutes. It's not surprising that it was off, big adrenaline rushes and a sense of emergency can really mess with a person's sense of time.

Bystanders who said that they were trying to warn cops for five minutes before were probably not lying; I've no doubt it felt like it took that long or even longer.

It seems to bother you immensely that I point out that Trump came up with the pathetic excuse for going down to the bunker that he didn't do so to hide but only to "inspect" it, and that he did so "two or three times," and yet only "for a tiny, little short period of time."
