Burn down all media organizations and petition the government to act like adults? Or perhaps we can just continue to bitch and moan on the internet, as we already do.

1. Stop electing brain damaged Mussolini wannabes for the highest political office of the most powerful nation on Earth?

2. Enlist MIT to calculate if Trump has a lower IQ than his average cult member? (If, of course, that's statistically possible.)

You are doing your part to burn down all media and transform government by asking, I see.

2016 Election:
Trump can't win this election! He can only win by cheating - with the help of evil foreign interests! Trump is actively and purposefully conspiring with Russia! Members of Trump's team are active foreign assets! Everything they do is corrupt! We need to investigate every single possible angle of Trump and everyone on his team to see if we can find anything at all to support the allegation of him colluding with Russia to win the election!
There's awful lot of exaggeration there, some of it going over the line to falsehood. Your arguments for bothsiderism are quite weak,

I agree that the R's started it, but I think it was during Whitewater. (And Travelgate, and some sort of banking thing that was bogus, and all sorts of other investigations during the Clinton years.) That was the first fishing expedition investigation I remember. Maybe there were also some before that, but it seems that ever since then it has been one investigation after another.

ETA: I would not put Iran-Contra in the same category. I think that was a perfectly legitimate investigation.

Actually, beyond that up to now. Benghzi!! EmailGate!! PedophileGate!! All completely bogus. It seems like Trump tweets and HRC weekly. It's just nonstop BS.

I challenge Emily's Cat to come up with a similar list for the Dems.

Another update: Trump falling further behind

Biden: 79,147,702

Trump: 73,393,503

Difference: 5,754,199

Trump apparently cancels the planned thanksgiving celebrations at Mar-a-Lago, choosing to instead remain in the White House. Anyone have theories as to why?

He's going to wall himself in the Oval Office with a pallet of Diet Coke. Meanwhile the Secret Service will be pounding on the door, "For the love of God, Mr. Trump!"

Trump Tweets

The rate of rejected Mail-In Ballots is 30 X’s lower in Pennsylvania this year than it was in 2016. This is why they kept our poll watchers and observers out of the “SACRED” vote counting rooms!
!

No, the reason is more likely that PA spent months producing ads and other campaigns (along with other political groups) explaining just *how* to properly fill out the mail-in ballots. In addition, legal attention was paid to them and the courts set proper limits for what made a ballot rejectable. This may seem odd but in previous election years PA wasn’t real big on the mail-in ballots and their. Wing counted often took place well after the state had been decided. So their rejection meant little and the counters didn’t feel they needed to bother with assessing an otherwise irrelevant ballot’s viability. Given the much bigger percentage of voters who used mail-ins this year, standards and legal arguments set much more stringent standards. Now Trump is crying foul after a rule book the GOP legislature help establish set the standards.

A bit of lamentation, yes, probably. Also a bit of "word of warning". A precedent has been set. It won't get unset. This election has been "trump is going to refuse to accept the outcome and he's going to refuse to step down" ...
The problem is that Trump himself was saying that. Kinda undercuts your argument.

It’s perverse how many times Trump saying something and then following through is somehow everyone else fault.

He's not showing any signs of giving up

Trump has a number of reasons to not concede yet.

1. Hoping a miracle might still happen. There are still recounts and lawsuits going. Even though there is basically no chance at this point.

2. It appears Trump has been planning for this situation for at least two years. He wasn’t sure if he would get a close race with the red mirage and the blue shift, but it happened. Now he wants to see his plans fully played out.

3. Giuliani and similar people are probably whispering in his ear that he won the election and that things are about to change so that they can continue to get paid and because it is what Trump wants to hear and they want to be on his good side to be part of his future endeavors.

4. The longer it draws out the more he can continue to hold his beloved rallies and get donates for his legal defense and recount fund, which he will use actually to pay his campaign debt.

5. He needs time before Biden has access to working with the administration so that he can do his revenge firings and make sure lackeys are in place to hide the skeletons in secure closets so that the Biden administration won’t get any information that might be determinantal to him.

6. He wants to keep the attention on himself and not let Biden steal his thunder.

7. He needs time to figure out how he is going to get out of this with his ego and fan base intact.

8. He wants to get his post-presidency plans in place so that he can time his very important announcements for a TV network or 2024 run or whatever he is going to do. That includes how he will handle post-presidency debt and possible criminal investigations.

9. He wants build his fan base and create fodder for his TV network. He wants to show that he is not a quitter. That he was wronged by fraud and conspiracy. That will be the big jumping off point for his TV shows and possibly a 2024 campaign.

10. By pushing this to absurd limits he can see who stands with him. This is a loyalty test.

At this point for Trump there is essentially no upside to conceding and many upsides to not conceding. It is bad for the country, but he only cares about Trump.

If he won't leave the White House and go to Mara Lago, he's either afraid of what's waiting for him there or he's afraid of what will happen at home when he's gone. Mara Lago is his home field so it's not likely that. Maybe feels like he needs to be there to prevent any sort of transition from starting, even if it's a quiet, informal one.

Aside from the partisan nature of the current issue at hand...

That is in, many ways, the entire purpose of the legislature creating a body that creates the standards (and interpret them to officials in the field, make emergency judgements, etc). The legislature (or the party behind it) can join in the incredulity and throw their hands up, seeming to indicate they had no part in this calamity.

Maybe he's just spending every hour of the day packing up all the stuff he's going to steal from the WH when he leaves. He's ripping copper wire out of the walls and rolling up towels to stuff as many as possible into suitcases.

:covereyes I was attempting to say that facts don't matter to the public who are going to see constant challenging and questioning of the validity and lose trust in the government regardless of which party is in there and regardless of whether the challenges have any basis in fact or not.

Which is, pretty much, exactly the GOP's strategy. A trap in the open, if you will. Even so, every time that people treat the two sides as being effectively equal, it is a win for dishonesty and plays right into that trap.

Burn down all media organizations and petition the government to act like adults? Or perhaps we can just continue to bitch and moan on the internet, as we already do.

So, "let the forces that are the ones actually causing the problems get pretty much exactly what they want" is your solution?

Biden's lead is 4 points. And now up in Pennsylvania over 80,000

*****************************************

Trump: 3,363,951
