Why aren't any of these bombs exploding? They have timers. Are the timers all set to explode next week, or what?

You can put a timer on anything, if it doesn't have a trigger, the timer is just for show.

As I pointed out to Bubba, a timer is not necessarily used to trigger a bomb.

More often than not, especially in a mail bomb, the timer is used to arm the device, and then some other physical trigger such as a level switch or a trip switch is used to detonate it. The purpose of the timer is to keep the bomb-maker safe by disabling the trigger until the set period of time has elapsed.

Every scenario was that it was a crazy person.

Really? I seem to remember a poster here claiming otherwise.

What are the possibilities?

1. A crazed right winger getting back at all the Dems who have gone after Trump Supporters

2. A Liberal who is trying to make the Trump Supporters look bad by targeting Dems who have targeted Trump.

3. An Isis (or other terrorist group) plot to only scare Dems who have gone after Trump.

4. A non political Crazy person who thought he would throw a wrench in the mid term election frenzy.


3 is a non-starter for me, I think at least one would have blown up if this was the case.
1 and 4, I think at least one would have blown up, or at least been functional.

2 is the only one who would have intentionally sent a non-functional device in my opinion.

Please add other possibilities if I'm leaving any out.

Can't bad things by one side be condemned without some call to another side? Why must counterbalance always be sought? Is calling to violence by the POTUS and attempts at violence by his followers wrong or not, irrespective of what someone somewhere else did or said?

The POTUS should simply not engage in the kind of violent rhetoric agains political opposition that Trump does. Period.
Yes, I do hold the POTUS to a higher standard then I do with some politician from Mashed Potato Falls, Idaho.

Honest, feet to the fire truth I could maybe forgive almost all of this is Trump just for a minute acted like he... not cared in the emotional sense but at least gave the impression that he understood why other people were upset.

I also submit the kind of rhetoric we are getting from Trump is NOT "Politics as Usual" but a kind of venom we have not seen from a major political figure before, let alone the POTUS.
I think a number of people in the GOP.who are not among the hardcore Trump Cult are still in denial about the kind of person Trump is. They will admit that some of Trump's rhetoric is unfortunate,but still deny just how evil and dangerous Trump is. Or that Trump had turned the GOP into a personality cult.
The GOP as we once knew it is dead. Time to admit it,and move on.
