Ed George Soros and others targetted by Terrorist

Special pleading for the win.

You compared two situations that have completely different circumstances and events leading up to them.

As previously requested, maybe you could explain where my special pleading was vs. me just pointing out the differences between the two?

I don't know, it felt like you were saying that blaming Henry II for Beckett's demise was on par with blaming the Beatles for Manson's work.

Maybe you could clarify.

To start with, it still hasn't been established that the culprit even thought he was following any suggestions from Trump, ala Manson/Beatles. All we have is that he's apparently a Trump fan, like Hodgkinson was a Bernie fan. And that doesn't suffice to place blame. More information may well come out in the future, but as of now it hasn't. And as of the time when Trump was blamed for not taking any "responsibility", we didn't even have a public suspect.

And what's your point?

The guy is definitely an extremist. Not sure if he would qualify as 'insane' or not. But despite is 2002 bomb threat, he had sat idle for a decade and a half. And now, after all that time, he decides to resume his activities, at the same time you have a president denigrating CNN, Soros, and various Democrats (the very people that the bomb maker was targeting.)
So, are you prepared to blame Bill Clinton for McVeigh's Oklahoma City bombing, or does this type of silly logic only work when Republicans are POTUS?
Did Clinton repeatedly criticize the DEA or AFT (who had offices in the building McVeigh targeted) and call them 'enemies of the state'? Did Clinton denigrate oklahomans?

I am not claiming Trump deserves some blame just because he's a republican... I'm suggesting he deserves some blame because of his actions. Labeling the media "enemies of the state", getting people at his rallies to chant "lock her up", praising a politician who assaulted a reporter is not just "being a republican"; Its inciting violence.

While Bush Jr. was seen as a poor president in may respects, I don't ever recall him engaging in the type of rhetoric that would incite people to violence.

And James Hodgkinson was a Bernie Sanders supporter. How much blame do you want to put on Sanders for Hodgkinson?

Sanders never encouraged or applauded violence against his opponents or critics. He never lifted phrases out of the Stalin playbook to turn crowds against people.

Looking at the stickers on the van windows, this guy looks like a classic case of conspiracy theorist. There's even a picture of a UFO with a blue beam of light shining down from it on the window in the center just to the right of the big window at the back of the van.

I wouldn't be surprised if this nutbar is a member of one of those whackadoodle conspiracy sites like AboveTopSecret.com or Infowars.

Was Bernie advocating violence? I must have missed that somewhere...

I am amazed (but not surprised) at the amount of information flooding out about this guy just after his name was released.

OK, you've already lost the analogy.

Trump literally and frequently called people who were the targets of this attack enemies of the state and criminals. He promoted violence towards those who disagreed with him and suggested 2nd amendment solutions if the election didn't go his way.

Trump isn't the Beatles in this analogy, he is Henry II.

I hate it when I go to so much effort just to prove theprestige right. Nevermind, plague311 did a better job responding to you than I did.

At 3 am this morning, Trump posted an anti-CNN rant. The bomber has a huge "CNN Sucks" sticker on his van. But yeah, the problem is that liberals call right-wingers Nazis. It's their fault.

McVeigh bombed Federal building, like an alt right AlexJonesNut

The liar in chief is the one spreading division and hate today. Not sure if trump is a republican, he seems more like an idiot who lies and spreads hate, and projects a lot. Maybe trump is in the birther party, not rep party.

Did Bill Say "lock her up", insult hundreds of people places and things, call people names, and support violence in rallies?

Did Bill call those who did not support him "haters and losers"?

Did Bill call the press an enemy of the people?

McVeigh attacked the Federal building, would be an indirect attack on Clinton, thus the analogy fails. McVeigh looked like an AlexJones/breitbart nut, or Q, like a trump like cult.

the liar in chief talks violence all the time -

Trump was in politics and running for office way before 2002.

How soon people forget. Fun fact - when he was running for the Reform Party nomination for President in 1999/2000, Trump proposed a one-time "net worth" tax to pay down the national debt.

I was joshing earlier, but his twitter account does have attacks against Elizabeth warren for being a fake native american....

Eeeh I'm tempted to give them a non-sinister benefit of the doubt on that. Given the high profile and politically charged nature of the case I won't fault them for not putting info out until they are 100% and have crossed all the Ts and dotted all the Is.

I agree completely and wish it was more often so

I blame soccer! damn foreigners

here is what he said about real Football!

"Who cares barred , Banned ,Boycotted 4 life. Your sport weak more padding than armor fighter go cry about everything."
Plus I hear that some of the players kneel during the national anthem.

Yup.

Trump has been a wannabe Washington politician for a long long time. Probably because he heard about all the great perks and lifetime free medical coverage.
