Only liars can be caught in perjury traps.
Summer is over and the mood changes. People start to take a more critical look at their personal situations. For the majority who already had jobs, more jobs is nice but take-home pay and how far it stretches take centre stage. Not that I mind (or doubt) the results, but it does seem strange that after 2 years of almost constant scandals (previous tell-all books, children being locked in cages, etc.) that Trump's popularity drops NOW, even with the economy doing well (in spite of Trump rather than because of him.)
Consider that if only Republicans are investigated, only Republicans can be caught in perjury traps. Any idea why Manafort is being treated like El Chapo?
Republicans are not the only ones being investigated, but they are giving much more reason to be investigated right now than the Dems. Republicans are not being only arrested for perjury; your own example isn't just charged with perjury. Insider trading isn't perjury. Stealing campaign funds isn't perjury.
Manafort is dirtier than a fifteen year old's internet search history. That is why he's being treated the way he is; he fully deserves it.
Why do you hate our laws and law enforcement? Blue lives matter.
As have I.... It's certainly not all the research I have personally done into his claims.
It does no such thing....However, it does establish beyond doubt that he is not just deceitful, but deliberately so. ...
Same here, until Trump. He is so over-the-top cartoonish -- on top of his many other outlandish negative attributes -- that he invites it and deserves it. I can't really defend this as mature or productive, but that's my thinking.//Slight hijack//
I don't give elected officials cutsie-poo names and that's regardless of how much I like or respect them.
I would never call Warren "Pocahontas" but I also never called George H. Bush "Shrub" or "Dubya" (although I heard he liked that one) or Trump as "Cheeto" or anything else.
Or even worse, 'Trump is bigger than the Beatles.'
According to an excerpt from Bob Woodward‘s Fear, the book out tomorrow that the president has called a “joke,” a “scam,” and a “con on the public“ written by a “Dem operative,” the Goldman Sachs president turned National Economic Council director came away from his very first meeting with Donald Trump “astounded” by just how dumb the guy was. During a chat about various economic issues, Cohn told Trump that the Federal Reserve would likely increase rates during his first term in office, to which President Buy High, Sell Low reportedly responded, “We should just go borrow a lot of money, hold it, and then sell it to make money.” This suggestion, and “lack of basic understanding” about how federal debt works apparently sent chills up the spine of Cohn, who explained that borrowing more money would in fact increase the deficit and add to the debt, something that would, in theory, be counterproductive for a delusional president who had pledged to completely eliminate the federal debt. But President “I’m, like, really smart” wasn’t finished:
The president-elect offered a solution.
“Just run the presses—print money,” Trump said, according to Woodward.
Cohn suggested that would be detrimental to the fiscal and economic health of the U.S., since printing vast amounts of money is thought to lead to inflation. . . . Cohn also pointed to the federal debt ceiling, a statutory limit to the amount of debt the federal government can have outstanding. Even approaching the debt ceiling can be harmful to the stock market and U.S. economic growth.
But according to Woodward, Cohn’s message did not seem to connect.
“It was clear that Trump did not understand the way the U.S. government debt cycle balance sheet worked,” Woodward wrote.

He thinks he can just print money, I take it Mnuchin hasn't explained it to him. Or maybe they both think they can print their own money.Linky. (Emphasis on Trump quotes mine.)
I think the two once high ranking Trump officials being found/pled guilty to criminal charges was the straw that broke a lot of the indepdents back when it came to Trumpy, and his behavior since just made things worse.
Before Manafort/Cohen corruption charges involving the Trump administration were just charges, but the verdict and confession made them facts.
I found some references in the Mueller thread. Some back and forth, but nothing convincing. Can you link to one of the times it was explained? I don't find the search tools on this forum all that easy to use.
At least we'd get the reference. Trump though, would be completely oblivious.

Maybe a little with the party of Ike....but not much.

From what I know about Mueller, he's not looking to entrap Trump. Trump can barely speak without lying, but that's not what the investigation is about.
