According to my octogenarian mother there is a town in California that is named after her uncle who owned the local mill or something. Every time I see that town name it makes me smile. I have even mentioned it to people from the area on the few occasions I have met them.

I have never done the independent research necessary to check whether my mom's story is true. I suppose that makes me a liar, too.

My own feelings about tribalistic dualism having taken over and completely ruined the entire spectrum of political discussion are... well documented at this point but I will say that even among the Tribes the ones that think they "win" by erected the biggest possible negative totem of the other side are the worst.

She's proved she isn't part Indian to my satisfaction. She won't take the test because she would fail. There is no rational reason for her not to support her claim if she could. Fake news would be running front page stories on this every day if Fauxcahontas was a Republican, saying exactly the same thing I am saying.

Naw, Trump has too many crazy, stupid, or scandalous events for many other front page stories. She'd have to get arrested to make front page, and so many Republicans are right now, it would have to be something good.

Consider that if only Republicans are investigated, only Republicans can be caught in perjury traps. Any idea why Manafort is being treated like El Chapo?

Republicans currently control both houses of congress, the presidency, and the supreme court is made up of a conservative majority. The majority of the statehouses are currently republican. Law enforcement, including the FBI, lean conservative/republican. And yet, Republicans are being investigated for various criminal enterprises. That would not imply, as you seem to be, that democrats are getting away with similar crimes due to some bias against the republicans. Rather, it implies that these republicans are so blatantly corrupt, even their erstwhile allies can't turn a blind eye.

Yes and we should look at the sources of the criticism as well because the right wing sets on anyone who is successful with a message that hurts them. They've done this to both Clintons, to Gore, to Moore, to John Kerry, to Liz Warren and so on. And they are very good at it.

It's off topic for the thread to rehash this stuff but the link you cited has its own problems.
