Consider that if only Republicans are investigated, only Republicans can be caught in perjury traps. Any idea why Manafort is being treated like El Chapo?
Is he really? Really truly?

Trump Tweets
"The Woodward book is a Joke - just another assault against me, in a barrage of assaults, using now disproven unnamed and anonymous sources. Many have already come forward to say the quotes by them, like the book, are fiction. Dems can’t stand losing. I’ll write the real book!"
" The Woodward book is a scam. I don’t talk the way I am quoted. If I did I would not have been elected President. These quotes were made up. The author uses every trick in the book to demean and belittle. I wish the people could see the real facts - and our country is doing GREAT!"
“It is mostly anonymous sources in here, why should anyone trust you? General Mattis, General Kelly said it’s not true.” @SavannahGuthrie @TODAYshow Bob Woodward is a liar who is like a Dem operative prior to the Midterms. He was caught cold, even by NBC."
Only the Obama WH can get away with attacking Bob Woodward.
She's proved she isn't part Indian to my satisfaction. She won't take the test because she would fail.
It's off topic for the thread to rehash this stuff but the link you cited has its own problems.
President Trump drew laughs from some of his aides as he joked about what a “rough business” terrorism is while discussing an ambush in Niger that left four U.S. soldiers dead last year, according to a covert recording released Monday.
Trump made the comments during a closed-door meeting at the White House in the wake of the Oct. 4, 2017, attack on the U.S. Special Forces, who were advising local troops fighting Islamic extremists in the African nation.
Former White House communications aide Omarosa Manigault Newman secretly recorded the conversation and provided a tape of it to MSNBC on Monday afternoon.
...
The ambush, which also left four Nigerien soldiers dead, has been shrouded in controversy since U.S. Special Forces in Africa are only supposed to advise and assist local troops from behind the front lines. The Pentagon has blamed the bloody ambush on “individual, organizational, and institutional failures,” but has yet to fault any particular individual or strategic decision.
...
Trump infamously inflamed the ambush controversy further after he was accused of forgetting the name of one of the fallen soldiers while on a condolence call with his wife.
“I heard him stumbling on trying to remember my husband’s name, and that’s what hurt me the most, because if my husband is out here fighting for our country and he risked his life for our country, why can’t you remember his name?” Myeshia Johnson, the wife of late Army Sgt. La David Johnson, told ABC News weeks after his death.
Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.), who listened in on the condolence call, also accused the President of telling Johnson that her husband “knew what he was getting into.” Trump denies Wilson’s allegation.
Or even worse, 'Trump is bigger than the Beatles.'I'm looking forward to the "Trump is bigger than Jesus" tweet.
I'm kind of in awe at people who do that, including on this forum. For a while I was collecting phrases useful for introducing complete irrelevancies into an argument. "Last time I checked," "I find it hard to believe" etc. I always feel shackled into making factual statements because I hate being wrong so much. If you don't mind being wrong, actually embrace it, you can get away with saying so much more!Yes, children, you no longer need evidence to argue something. Next time you have to write a school essay, you can just claim the Roman empire fell because of cigarette companies, just open your explanation with "I guess".
Not that I mind (or doubt) the results, but it does seem strange that after 2 years of almost constant scandals (previous tell-all books, children being locked in cages, etc.) that Trump's popularity drops NOW, even with the economy doing well (in spite of Trump rather than because of him.)Trump's rating among Independents..considered to be the decisive demo in American politics since they are the "swing vote" has dropped six points in the last month. That is a big drop.
By your logic, Obama has proved he was born in Kenya. She's proved she isn't part Indian to my satisfaction. She won't take the test because she would fail. There is no rational reason for her not to support her claim if she could.
Only liars can be caught in perjury traps.Consider that if only Republicans are investigated, only Republicans can be caught in perjury traps.
"I had the right to remain silent, but I didn't have the ability.""And one DWI, which was a bogus charge, cause it turns out they were stopping every driver, traveling down that particular sidewalk. And that's profiling. And profiling is wrong!" - Ron White
There can be a kind of tipping point. A snowball effect. I think having an actual remedy at hand that they can personally employ may be making people more thoughtful. I'm also not sure if the economic benefit is being felt that much by individuals. And Trump lies about the economy, and a 50 percent increase in the stock market (The Dow? What exactly is he talking about?) doesn't sound like a boom, it sounds like a bubble. Not that I mind (or doubt) the results, but it does seem strange that after 2 years of almost constant scandals (previous tell-all books, children being locked in cages, etc.) that Trump's popularity drops NOW, even with the economy doing well (in spite of Trump rather than because of him.)

We don't know that any backs have been broken. Polling itself appears to be broken (judging by the 2016 presidential race). There is only one poll now that matters.I think the two once high ranking Trump officials being found/pled guilty to criminal charges was the straw that broke a lot of the indepdents back when it came to Trumpy, and his behavior since just made things worse.
I agree. In no way do I intend it to be the last word on Moore. It's certainly not all the research I have personally done into his claims.
However, it does establish beyond doubt that he is not just deceitful, but deliberately so. I mean, just to take one example, Moore paints a picture that heavily implies that Charlton Heston blames gun violence on ethnic minorities. That he's a racist.
This is a man who fought for racial equality on the front lines, back when that could get you shot. This is a man who worked and marched with Martin Luther King. And Moore edits his words to try to make him look like a racist, because doing that supports the point he wants to make.
That's not a mistake. That's not compressing a narrative for brevity. That's straight-up dishonesty. And it's typical. It's not an anomaly, it's Moore's SOP.
