I will not be going to TAM3 ...

... with enough money to buy everyone drinks. If I manage to go, it will be on a VERY tight budget, and that is assuming I can benefit from the scholarship program. I'm going to try real hard to at least gather the same amount of money I needed last year, but seeing how I didn't spend any money then in the days before TAM except a motel room for three days, this might be unrealistic. I'll also try to figure it all out before the November deadline ...

In that case, I'll buy your first round. Hope you can make it.

I'd loan you some money if I had it, but I'm pretty strapped myself at this point. Let me know if there's anything else I can do.

I had a check all made out to you, but I lost it (and all my other checks) in the fire. But I guess that's just extra encouragement for me to save up for TAM!

Oh, yeah, it was back in August. My Boston sublet burned down, and I enjoyed it so much I moved back from Seattle immediately! Lost a bunch of stuff, but it's just stuff, after all. There were some great pics floating around, but I guess the picture thread is still missing? You can probably still find them on munu.

Now that I'm in the new apartment, I'm buying new stuff (coated with asbestos, just in case!) while paying rent and trying to save for TAM. So we'll see, hopefully I'll be living it up in Vegas soon. But I haven't forgotten that I owe you that $2.50!

Awww, I hate to give up money, but put the $2.50 towards your TAM3 fund. Never let it be said I was a tightwad!

I've booked flights and a room, and paid JREF already. Looks like I'm on my way!

I'm planning on going... it will be my first Amazing Meeting.
I'm something of a Vegas afficianado, so I can answer any questions anyone might have about where to eat, what to see, etc....

I believe I will be staying at the Boardwalk hotel while there. The rooms are much cheaper and it's in a good location on the strip.

Is there anywhere on this website where I can find a tentative itinerary of what is going on and what the schedule is like each day of the AM?

I was lucky enough last year to get my school to pay for my trip up to Vegas and TAM has definately been the highlight of my life since I was forced to move here to the middle of the desert over a year ago.

I made it through the hot summer by thinking about how at least I wasn't too far from the forthcoming TAM again and it would be another great time. Well this year, my district says it isn't connected closely enough with state education standards and aren't covering it!!!

I am tempted to pay for it out of my pocket but I have to take an expensive trip to a job fair in Iowa in Feb to find an intl teaching job for next year since I can't stand it here anymore and I will have to use my personal days off at that time also.

So hope it is another great time for all.

I am provisionally declaring my intent to attend TAM3. My mother had offered me 50,000 worth of Delta frequent flier miles to use for my airfare, but unfortunately as of October Delta is pulling out of D-FW airport so I'm not sure if I can use them. I'll need to check over the next few week.s

If my roomate from TAM2 is ammenable to rooming again, I would appreciate it and will contribute half the cost this time. If not, then I appreciated last year more than you can imagine and hope my stinky feet didn't make you think less of me.

I realize that I don't post to Randi.org that much any more and have turned my back on the alternate forums, but I would love to see those of you I call my friends again in person as well as punch bpesta in the mouth.

I'll see how my finances look over the next 30 days...

My flight is booked! I haven't registered yet...it's simply a credit-card matter before I do. But the wheels are turning, and I am currently going to Las Vegas on those days.

I went to Lasvegas.com and they have room rates at the Stardust for $50 on Thursday and $85 on Friday and saturday. I'm planning on arriving on Wednesday, which is also $50 and leaving on Monday, and Sunday night's rate is also $50. Just wanted to pass this on to anyone wanting to save a buck or two.

Also, I may be looking for a roommate. I realize I know abslolutely no one on this board, but if anyone else is looking to cut costs, let me know.
