Who's going to TAM3??

One last time: we do not hate you. We disagree with you. And that´s it.

It's not even that bad. We disagree on some issues with Americans. We don't even hate you, we are actually quite fond of you.

But we are not your ever-adoring, never-questioning sycophantic fans. And we do criticize you, when you deserve it. Get over it - and yourselves.

well, I've never really run into any Europeans that "hate" Americans. The Germans were really nice, and the food was good. I found the Germans in Hamburg very "American" in that they wore sneakers shopping, and ate full sized meals.

To be honest, everyone was hating the Eastern Europeans and Middle Eastern immigrants so much that I found I was quite popular. The favorite topic of conversation was how "those" people were ruining the country. (It should be noted that I read 80% of all jail inmates in Belgium are foreigners).

I'm taking my head scarf so I can visit the very historic and beautiful Mosque when I go to Paris. I was a little nervous about wearing it out, knowing the recent legislation on the subject of head scarves in France. But, heck, a little rudeness makes the trip more interesting!

Unfortunately, that's like saying 80% of all inmates in the US are black. It doesn't really say anything about the foreigners until you know the percentage of arrested foreigners (which, sadly, I suspect is lower).

Anyway, as far as TAM3 is concerned, the intent to go is definitely there (how could I possibly give up the chance to meet my future wife? Sheesh ). Anyway, my car now being fully paid for after 4 years means I should have almost 200 Euros more each month, which I plan to set aside for TAM. That means I can scrounge up 1000 Euros by January which will get me a long way already.

Is anyone in California willing to put up with a Belgian skeptic for a couple of days before and/or after TAM? How about a ride there and back? Please let me know ...

Why, Exarch... Lil Fevre looks great in his wedding cape. I wish you two the best of luck-- would you like us to take him cake tasting, too, perhaps? An elvis wedding should do the trick, I think. What a great way to end his world travels![

If I'm there, yes.

Ok, I've been nagged enough.
I'm coming.
I just booked the flights and the hotel, and spoken to Linda to confirm my registration.
Satisfied?
Walks off, mumbling to self about the cost.......:p ;)

Well, the entertainment for the skepchic pajama party has been determined! I will pack extra razors. :D

Oh TIM.....

If you bring us a chocolate offering (that we deem worthy) we will be sure to use sharp rather than dull razors.

Oh yes! Tim is coming! There is a GOD, and GOD is a FEMALE!

Yay, tim! I will be proud to shake your hand and say hi! The cost? Well, most of us have financial issues (ahem...) but heck, we're coming any way. Don't worry about those who would shave you - the whippet is ready...;)

Well why aren't you? You should be? To not be our ever-adoring, never-questioning sycophantic fans means that you hate us. We know it, we see it in your beady little eyes that are filled with all that dang individuality, intelligence and the ability to think for yourselves! Jerks! :p

Well, bad news. Some things have come up, and it's looking like I may not have the money to go to TAM3 after all :(

Here I thought I'd have extra cash coming in, goes to figure that something would come up to take it.

However, there's still slim hope. I should know for sure within a couple months; by the November 1st registration price deadline anyway.

I was planning on donating some cash out of this, as well. But the proce of registration, hotel, and airline tickets was more than I expected, not to mention other issues that have arisen (extensive dental work is needed, I'll leave it at that).

I'll update as soon as I know for sure one way or the other. Hopefully, I can still work the issue.

It´s useless, Claus. She sees right trough ours disguises... :(

Have yet to register and book flights and a hotel room, but I plan to attend TAM3. Especially since Exarch is buying the first round.

I think it's beer-envy. Chani owes me a beer at TAM3, and she is merely embarrassed that she can't serve me proper beer... ;)

Uh oh, ... ehm, folks, bad news ...

I will not be going to TAM3 ...

... with enough money to buy everyone drinks. If I manage to go, it will be on a VERY tight budget, and that is assuming I can benefit from the scholarship program. I'm going to try real hard to at least gather the same amount of money I needed last year, but seeing how I didn't spend any money then in the days before TAM except a motel room for three days, this might be unrealistic. I'll also try to figure it all out before the November deadline ...
