Understanding the Conservative Mindset

it’s a youtube editing technique. they edit out basically all the dead air, and many of them can’t speak clearly without a mistake for a long time, and to do as few takes as possible, they edit pieces together sometimes in the middle of sentences. it often looks/sounds like a bunch of jump cuts
Actually, it's more than that - it's packaging bits of the same video over and over in slightly different ways to trick algorithms and flood the system to make it look like there is more interest than there really is.
It's a business.

As I have told about before, some choose to abstain from voting, or vote for an independent candidate with no chance whatsoever.
in other words - not against the Party Line, just not for it.
kinda perpendicular, expecting the Other Side to fix what you broke by having voted the troublemakers in.

I don't think that counts as much as people think it does.

In other words, you are happy to let the other people make the decision for you, and have no grounds for complaint if it goes in a direction you don't like.

Then we have the U.S. right wing, religious right, and MAGA inlfluencers who in every way resemble conservatives because that's what they are. They're just slightly more radical in their conservatism and open about it, i.e. they no longer pretend to care for the environment and human beings other than their immediate family and cronies – and they care for those only as long as they're useful to them.

The Right Has No Empathy (Lucas Bean on YouTube, May 27, 2026 – 1:47 min.)

Researchers from Northwestern University, NYU and Boston College studied over 30,000 people.
They asked one simple question: What do you care about?
Liberals said, 'Family, friends, strangers, the environment and even animals'.
Conservatives said, 'My family and people who look like me'.
That's it. Conservatives extend empathy to 70% fewer people than liberals do.
Science has already proven that conservatives have a larger, more active amygdala. That's the fear center of your brain. When your brain runs on fear, you can't expand your empathy. You see outsiders as threats, not people.

A desire for a loud car with a modified muffler is predicted by being a man and higher scores on psychopathy and sadism

I'm not in a position to evaluate whether this research is kosher, but it sounds convincing to me,

I have noticed that you can also by electronic amplifiers to be able to"impress" your surroundings even more.

i think the loud speaker thing was more of a 90s and early 2000s thing. i still hear them once in a while tho

I have noticed a lot of people, not always just men, who seem to have made being obnoxiously loud a central part of their public persona, and not just with cars, either. I don't see what it has to do with conservatism or the conservative mindset, though.

It's probably the obnoxious entitlement and complete lack of empathy for other people that is the ethos of conservatism.

It would be interesting if the study broke down being obnoxiously loud by race. In Central America, being obnoxiously loud is a way of life, in Indonesia it's a teenager thing and up here in super liberal land it's whites sharing their Spotify playlist with their fellow beach and park goers.

Loud Harley's seem to be a thing of the past though. No doubt most of them aged out. "loud pipes save lives"? Nah, not buying it.

According to super liberal NPR street takeovers at least in super liberal Oakland, are a part of black culture.

"[It was] hundreds if not thousands of black faces, all getting along together, all having fun in the middle of the night," he says.

Referring to Black culture as criminal is a very loud racist dogwhistle and paints all participants with the same conservative brush.
