Gavinimurthy said:Homeo medicines, particularly in potencies, work only when the patient is suceptible to the medicine.
This doesn't apply to crude drugs, or mother tinctures. All people are susceptible to snake poision. But, snake poision in potencies will work only on some people.
The chances of a' wrong' homeopathic medicine, creating problems are very low if you understand the susceptibility phenomena.
In classical homeopathy, the cardinal principle is give a dose, and wait and watch. If you selected the right medicine its effects are seen from one to three weeks, in chronic problems. lf it were to be a wrong medicine, it is as if taking nothing.
Each individual is susceptible to a few medicines, and if the wrong medicine happens to be the one, to which he is susceptible, it will do whatever good it can. What is important is the wait and watch approach.

…snip…
To make it more difficult to see them.Kumar said:Zep, why chamaleons changes colours?
Yes. Remember what you've been told about this sort of thing in the past?Does this do some refelected colour wavelengths effects?
Why are you asking Zep about chameleons anyway?Sense from ab-sense can't be there?
Isn't it obvious?Mojo said:Why are you asking Zep about chameleons anyway?
So you can tell beforehand which remedy to use?Gavinimurthy said:Whether a person is susceptible to the homeopathic medicine,or not, is determined by the signs and symptoms, he manifests.
So you can't tell beforehand which remedy to use?In classical homeopathy, the cardinal principle is give a dose, and wait and watch. If you selected the right medicine its effects are seen from one to three weeks, in chronic problems
And you can't tell the different remedies apart anyway? If you switch labels, either by mistake or otherwise, there is no way, to findout about it.
So if a hundred people took massively dilutes snake poison would you expect some of them to die?Gavinimurthy said:This doesn't apply to crude drugs, or mother tinctures. All people are susceptible to snake poision. But, snake poision in potencies will work only on some people.
Zep said:b) Why don't homeopaths mix one drop of EVERY remedy they have in one bottle and give that to EVERY patient for EVERY disease? A "universal homeopathic remedy" for curing every disease for every patient. Because all the remedies in the mixture that "work" will make the patient better from any disease they have, and any that don't "work" will do nothing to the patient. This would be Nobel Prize winning technology, incidentally!

What? And why?Barbrae said:Many of our remedies act as antidotes to one another.
Barbrae said:Many of our remedies act as antidotes to one another.
This cannot be so. To be an "antidote" means that at least one remedy will do something bad to the patient that then needs an "antidote" to "make it better". But Murthy has already said that homeopathic remedies CANNOT harm a patient - at worst, they will do nothing to them. So homeopathic remedies cannot be antidotes of each other.Barbrae said:Many of our remedies act as antidotes to one another.
And another point on the same subject. If highly diluted remedies leave some sort of "vital force" in the water they are made with, how do you distinguish between the different "vital forces" of different remedies such that you can determine with confidence that they do/do not conflict with each other? Better question: ARE there different "vital forces" arising from different remedies? Why don't homeopaths mix one drop of EVERY remedy they have in one bottle and give that to EVERY patient for EVERY disease? A "universal homeopathic remedy" for curing every disease for every patient. Because all the remedies in the mixture that "work" will make the patient better from any disease they have, and any that don't "work" will do nothing to the patient.
