Understanding homeopathy

But you are not catching on. I mentioned about very low potencies & mother tincture, where active substances in their molecular forms are present in remedies.
Just keep lowering that potency. To about 1.

Homeo medicines, particularly in potencies, work only when the patient is suceptible to the medicine.

This doesn't apply to crude drugs, or mother tinctures. All people are susceptible to snake poision. But, snake poision in potencies will work only on some people.

The chances of a' wrong' homeopathic medicine, creating problems are very low if you understand the susceptibility phenomena.

In classical homeopathy, the cardinal principle is give a dose, and wait and watch. If you selected the right medicine its effects are seen from one to three weeks, in chronic problems. lf it were to be a wrong medicine, it is as if taking nothing.

Each individual is susceptible to a few medicines, and if the wrong medicine happens to be the one, to which he is susceptible, it will do whatever good it can. What is important is the wait and watch approach.

Can taking the wrong homeopathic remedy cause any harm?

Murthy

How do you know there aren't people, who aren't susceptible to any high potency remedy, so who couldn't be treated in any way with high potencies?

By a wrong homeopathic remedy, if you mean, for which the patient is not susceptible, it won't do any harm.

If, you mean, the wrong medicine ,though different from the one, that is prescribed, is such a one, to which the patient is susceptible, it will help the patient.

The above, as already stated, applies to potencies, not repeated unnecessarily.

If the homeopath is unable to assess the patient probably, and is unable to understand his present susceptibilty, then also, whatever he prescribes, may help to some extant, or not help at all, as explained above.

That is why, it is possible in homeopathy, that the intial prescription of two homeopaths, for the same patient and condition, may be different, but, if both are capable, they can cure the patient with a series of medicines.

The homeopaths have to be much more intelligent, and hard working people, than ordinary, allopathic doctors, as the methodology of homeopathic treatment is very complex.

Murthy

Whether a person is susceptible to the homeopathic medicine,or not, is determined by the signs and symptoms, he manifests.

If the symptoms tally, with those that were developed while proving the medicine, it is an indication that the patient is susceptible to that medicine.

That is basically, how, the homeo medicine is selected.

…snip…

No I mean taking a homeopathic remedy not "prescribed" for me or one that was mislabelled.

With that in mind can taking the wrong homeopathic remedy cause any harm?

Surely this is a simple question to understand and answer?

Darat, I think I can summarise Murthy as follows: Any one homeopathic remedy will either do nothing at all to the patient (if the patient is NOT "susceptible"), or it will help the patient (if the patient IS "susceptible"). Is that right, Murthy?

If that's right, then let's ask the following questions:

a) After taking a remedy, are any subsequent homeopathic "aggravations" a sign that the patient is getting better or that nothing is happening to him?

b) Why don't homeopaths mix one drop of EVERY remedy they have in one bottle and give that to EVERY patient for EVERY disease? A "universal homeopathic remedy" for curing every disease for every patient. Because all the remedies in the mixture that "work" will make the patient better from any disease they have, and any that don't "work" will do nothing to the patient. This would be Nobel Prize winning technology, incidentally!

Zep, why chamaleons changes colours? Does this do some refelected colour wavelengths effects? Sense from ab-sense can't be there?

To make it more difficult to see them.

Yes. Remember what you've been told about this sort of thing in the past?
Sense from ab-sense can't be there?
Why are you asking Zep about chameleons anyway?

Isn't it obvious?

What can it mean:
Chameleons change color >> absorption/reflection on skin >> partial
excitation on atoms >> Energy release up to E=mc^2 >> Prime
energy/prime matter >> HOMEOPATHY WORKS!

Is it ok?

If you switch labels, either by mistake or otherwise, there is no way, to findout about it.
And you can't tell the different remedies apart anyway?

Come on, Murthy. You've said it yourself:

There is no difference between the various homeopathic remedies.

Homeopathic practicioners cannot tell which remedy to use for a particular health problem.

So homeopathy is fraud. Simple as that.

So if a hundred people took massively dilutes snake poison would you expect some of them to die?

This cuts right to the heart of the absurdity. Kudos!

Many of our remedies act as antidotes to one another.

Since there is no molecule of the remedies' "base" in the solvent... how could you tell?

If someone came in and replaced all the labels of the bottles --- so that Nux Vomica was really Natrum Muriaticum, would it make any difference?

Barbrae said:

This cannot be so. To be an "antidote" means that at least one remedy will do something bad to the patient that then needs an "antidote" to "make it better". But Murthy has already said that homeopathic remedies CANNOT harm a patient - at worst, they will do nothing to them. So homeopathic remedies cannot be antidotes of each other.

But I suspect what you REALLY mean is that one remedy can cancel our or perhaps nullify the effect of one or more other remedies. If so, and given that every patient/disease combination is unique and that remedies can take weeks to work, why do homeopaths regularly prescribe multiple remedies together, or in close succession within days?

In fact, this practice of multiple remedies or close succession of remedies is almost exactly what I described above:
Why don't homeopaths mix one drop of EVERY remedy they have in one bottle and give that to EVERY patient for EVERY disease? A "universal homeopathic remedy" for curing every disease for every patient. Because all the remedies in the mixture that "work" will make the patient better from any disease they have, and any that don't "work" will do nothing to the patient.
And another point on the same subject. If highly diluted remedies leave some sort of "vital force" in the water they are made with, how do you distinguish between the different "vital forces" of different remedies such that you can determine with confidence that they do/do not conflict with each other? Better question: ARE there different "vital forces" arising from different remedies?
