And he was American (but from Turkey originally).Columbus, in fact, sailed in 1942
Took a few days longer than I expected, but as of today, May 6th, 2026, we've reached $5 a gallon. As of this morning, Friday, May 1st, 2026, local gas is now $4.90, ten cents shy of my above 'prediction', but the weekend is only starting.
I do wish the media would stop sugar coating the reports by saying it's 'the highest it's been in four years', that's not true, it's the highest it's ever been, easily eclipsing any previous records by at least fifty cents.
Quite the economic pitch just ahead of the midterms
But Biden!Took a few days longer than I expected, but as of today, May 6th, 2026, we've reached $5 a gallon.
Fonzie's response.Not a cult
Rep. Wesley Hunt: "Despite the fact that his life is in danger, he still gets up, goes to the White House lawn, and teaches kids how to do the Trump dance. This guy is a machine. This is our guy. We must follow suit or we're gonna lose our country."

The Justice Department will ask the Supreme Court to allow it to step in on President Donald Trump’s appeal of the $83.3 million jury verdict in a defamation lawsuit brought by the writer E. Jean Carroll — a move that would doom Carroll’s case.
In a Tuesday filing, Assistant U.S. Attorney General Brett Shumate said the government would seek to use the Westfall Act to swap Trump for the U.S. as the defendant in the lawsuit. That would require dismissal of the case becau
The act gives federal employees immunity from some civil damages when they are found to have been acting within the scope of their employment. While Trump was president when he made the comments at issue in Carroll’s lawsuit, it would be highly unusual for the government to intervene on the president’s behalf at this stage, post trial and verdict.
The Justice Department’s filing comes as Trump is seeking to avoid paying the judgment while the Supreme Court decides whether to review the case — an effort in which he is virtually certain to succeed because Carroll doesn’t oppose the pause in payment as long as he increases the bond to account for interest. Last week, the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals denied Trump’s request to reconsider a panel’s ruling upholding the defamation verdict.
Trump has also asked the Supreme Court to overturn the $5 million judgment Carroll won after a jury found he sexually abused and defamed her.
se the federal government can’t be sued for defamation. A panel of appeals court judges previously denied the U.S.’s effort to insert itself as the defendant.
Captain Oblivious is odius.
Unbelievable. Yep.Trump begins his speech to military moms: "We're in I call it a skirmish. Because that's what it is. We're doing unbelievably well, as we did in Venezuela."

Are you kidding? It's a great thing! ...for those who own the banks. And aren't they the only people that matter? The Regime is celebrating more people going into credit card debt. That's not a surprise. For them to expect people to believe that it is a good thing shows how stupid and out of touch they are.
They bombed his phone into submission. It was the greatest, most magnificent military operation of all time.Trump: They have spell correct and word correct on these crazy machines that we use to put out truths or they used to be called tweets and every time I wrote Melania, it would correct to Melody. I didn’t know about that feature. You know who corrected it? The military.

Can't tell if they're out of touch or if they just don't care anymore. 'Hey, there won't be more free and fair elections, who cares if the peasants hate us!'Because people living on credit is.. good?
In case I'm missing some nuance here, am I right in thinking the Justice Department is trying to argue that when Trump raped Carroll in the '90s, and when he lied that she was lying about it in 2019, he was doing it as part of his job as president so actually she was suing the US?
