Trump's Second Term

You tell 'em Pete!

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth
@SecDef
Message to IRAN:
We see your LETHAL support to The Houthis. We know exactly what you are doing.
You know very well what the U.S. Military is capable of — and you were warned. You will pay the CONSEQUENCE at the time and place of our choosing.
well, we now know that the US Navy is capable of spending billions in countermeasures against missiles costing only thousands.
Oh, and throwing their own planes overboard.
the Iranian military must be quaking in their boots.

Stephen Miller: "If you had a choice between a doll from China that might have lead paint from it that is not as well constructed, as a doll made in America that has a highly environmental and regulatory standard ... and those two products are both on Amazon, that yes, you probably would be willing to pay more."

Reporter: GM says tariffs will cost the company between $4 and $5 billion. Ford says they can't commit to not raising prices. Is this administration open to doing more to give automakers relief?

Miller: The question unfortunately misses the entire point.

REPORTERS: The US Chamber of Commerce says tariff relief is necessary in order to save small businesses and stave off a recession. Is the administration considering small business tariff relief?

MILLER: The relief for small businesses is gonna come in the form of the largest tax cut in history

Stephen Miller: "Children will be taught to love America. Children will be taught to be patriots. Children will be taught civic values for schools that want federal taxpayer funding. So as we close the Dept of Education and provide funding to states, we're going to make sure these funds are not being used to promote communist ideology."

Gee, I wonder how Miller defines communism? I wonder what the approved science and history curricula will look like? I wonder what books will be allowed in literature class?

FTFY.

Hey, Miller, is your iPhone decorated with lead paint?

Sure, you can buy ultra-cheap and nasty garbage from China but is anyone going to be fooled into thinking branded goods which happen to be manufactured in China, as they have been for years, will suddenly start being made with stuff like lead paint? The side I'd worry are more likely to throw out 'woke' environmental protections, I'm sorry to say, is Trump's America and not China.

If they wanted federal control over how the states run their education, wouldn't it have made more sense to strengthen the Department of Education rather than dissolving it? I mean, even aside from the motives for wanting such control and how they'd employ it, it's just stupid how they're going about it. Not only are these people bad, they're bad at it.

[Shudders at thought of anyone getting relief from Stephen Miller]

Real reporter: Back to your first statement. That a doll from China might have lead paint, might have, and is not as well constructed, the latter of which is unsupported speculation, and that China doesn't maintain environmental and regulatory standards, relevant ones at least. Is all of that true? It seems you would have to show proof of your premise before making any expectation on the part of consumers with regard to higher prices brought on by your tariffs.

As to your response to my question about auto tariffs, what, besides your head, is the point?
