Not quite. You also need to ensure that they haven't dismantled sufficient democratic checks and balances nor put their people in the positions that would otherwise act to allow a change of power
 
Well I am extremely confident that Australia will come out of this well. Firstly our Reserve Bank is factoring in 4 interest rate reductions this year, which will boost investment. Secondly, China will also seek to stimulate its economy, which will be great as it’s our biggest market. Thirdly, nothing changes our competitive advantage in rare earths, lithium and iron.

They are if the GOP rig them enough that a, the Dems can't win, or b, the results can simply be overturned. Already Dump is bypassing the Constitution, American judges, and Congress, and the police is already in 'Befehl is Befehl' mode and doing his bidding. It'd be nice if they were simply declawed in 2026 and then voted out, but I'm increasingly struggling to see that happening.

What you want is not just Trump out of office, but a total overthow of the US overnment and probalby junking the consttiuion. and the US becoming just like a Euro SOcial Democracy. Not happening.
And if the GOP really does shut down any possiblityof legal peaceful change, I don't see it having a peaceful ending.

I just don't think Democracy is going to be quite as easy to destroy in the US as some here think.
And Trump is rapidly making enemies of one of the GOP most traditional power bases: Wall Street. That cannot be good for the GOP.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I'm a bit behind.

I don't know if they still do it, but I was paid $10 for a pint of blood in New Orleans. I've also donated plasma, and you can donate twice a week, whereas you can only donate blood once ever eight weeks or something like that. I can't remember exactly how many weeks offhand, and I'm just too lazy to look it up.

Anyway, I used to hitchhike around the US back in the seventies and eighties, and that's how I made my traveling money.

Yup, I'm constantly running across willfully stupid and ignorant maga weirdoes in the MSN and fox entertainment forums telling me to enjoy the next four years under the fat clown and another eight with what's his name (you know, the VP).

Of course I don't gamble, but since they can see into the future, I figure what the hell, and I'm always asking them for the winning numbers for the two Mega Million lotteries next week.

I'm still waiting for an answer... any answer at all.

Crickets so far.
