Ed The JD Vance thread

This reminds me of Tucker Carlon's trip to an ordinary supermarket. You can't expect him to understand ordinary things like donut shops and price tags.

eta: Also love how he too talks about "Harris' policies", as if she has been President for four years already. They really have zero respect for their base, do they?

To be fair, their base has zero intelligence. If one doesn't respect the intelligence of a rock, why should one respect the intelligence of Trump's base?

What do you expect someone with no self respect to do?

Finally, there's something I can agree with Vance on!

Who would even care? If it's not genuine certified Christ corpse, who'd want it? Christ Lite? Gross. The full-calorie version is where the flavor is!

I don't know. When I was a kid we sometimes went to a generic Christian church that had these cute little bread pellets and tiny glasses of "wine". I always wanted to try them. But, not enough to actually get baptized and all that rigmarole.

Tomorrow Vance is attending a town hall with religious leader Lance Wallnau, who has previously accused Vice President Harris of using witchcraft against Trump and using demonic forces and "the spirit of Jezebel" to manipulate her supporters.

Ohio Sen. JD Vance is set to participate in a town hall in Pennsylvania on Saturday with evangelical religious leader Lance Wallnau, who said after this month's presidential debate that Vice President Kamala Harris used "witchcraft."

Wallnau has warned that Harris is being guided by demonic forces and has used “the spirit of Jezebel” to deceive followers.

“She can look presidential,” Wallnau said on an online talk program this month, referring to Harris' debate performance. “That’s the seduction of what I would say is witchcraft. That’s the manipulation of imagery that creates an impression contrary to the truth, but it seduces you into seeing it. So that spirit, that occult spirit, I believe is operating on her and through her.”

If Harris had supernatural powers surely that would make her an even more effective leader. A witchqueen president would have an array of additional options for enacting policy that ordinary Muggle presidents do not.

Ah, the argument presented in Guards, Guards about the replacement for The Patrician

Some Protestents, like Anglicans and Lutherans, beleive in the real presence but not in Transubstantion.
IMHO the Catholic Church has a perfect right to decide who gets communion.
BTW, Catholics Services are open to all, it is just communions that is restricted to members.
And Some Portestents churchs also practive CLosed Communion.
Well it's complicated.....

Anglicans are (generally) neutral on transubstantiation, you can accept it or not. ACs believe but the further from Oxford you get the more "protestant" doctrine gets.

The Orthodox interpretation is variable but generally transubstantiation is accepted doctrine, though mostly under another name. 'Trans-elementation' used to be popular.

The Catholic interpretation is somewhat variable. Certainly the Traditionalist Catholics dispute whether the Roman Catholics still practice transubstantiation properly since 2Vat, but they're generally loonier than a Canadian lake in autumn. Also barely a third of RC laity believe in transubstantiation anyway.....

Now Lutherans have the doctrine of "Sacramental union", i.e. the consecrated bread is united with the body of Christ and the consecrated wine is united with the blood of Christ by virtue of Christ's original institution. Thus those who consume the 'elements' (as they are referred to) does eat and drinks the true body and blood of Christ as well.
It's basically transsubstantiation-lite or the Law of Similarity in classical sympathetic magic.

Hope this helps.

During a leg of ex–Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s tour in Fort Worth, Texas, on Tuesday, the Trump-supporting actress echoed QAnon theories, insisting that Hollywood denizens are “gay as hell,” and likened liberals to “vampires” that “love the taste of human flesh. You know they eat babies. That is not ********, it’s true,” Barr said. All the while, Carlson nodded along and giggled, seemingly in agreement. New Republic article link

Americans of a liberal bent eat babies. What in the hell is wrong with her? Even scarier, apparently there is an audience for this garbage. :boggled:

Barr has a long record of mental illness including Dissociative Personality Disorder, PTSD, and a traumatic brain injury resulting from a suicide attempt by throwing herself in front of a car when she was 16. Admitted to psychiatric hospital for nine months, she gave birth to a baby she put up for adoption.

It's discussed by a clinical psychologist here.

Furthermore, Roseanne’s description of her TBI implies damage to the frontal lobe, which is home to the brain’s skills of executive function, including planning, predicting the consequences of actions, and impulse control, all of which help to explain why she could lapse into sadistic, racist identities and not understand why those actions and accompanying identities are so horrific. If we think about someone who has severe DID and has endured TBI, you’re likely going to see some inconsistent outlandish, even self-sabotaging behaviors. In DID, during a dissociative episode, alters (alternate identities) might take over and wreak havoc.

Before social media, we had no way of knowing when Roseanne’s alters took control. But now, it seems clear that her Twitter account was taken over by an alter who identifies as a sadistic, authoritarian figure, like the people who surrounded her growing up. That photo of her dressed as a Nazi, I now realize, is not Roseanne. It is an alter who identifies as or with the Nazi who lived down the street from her, who got off on torturing a young Jewish girl.

JD Vance: people having less children due to car seat rules:
"American families aren't having enough children. I think there's evidence that some of the things that we're doing to parents is driving down the number of children that American families are having," Vance says in the video.

"In particular, there's evidence that the car seat rules that we've imposed, which of course I want kids to drive in car seats, have driven down the number of babies born in this country by over 100,000. So as we think about how to make kids safe here, I think we should do it in a way that's accommodating to American families."

So, how do we 'accommodate' families when it comes to car seats?

She fits right in with the maga crew, don't she? :(

See the photos below. Rosie dressed as a female Hitler, putting baby-cookies in an oven and then...eating them! My former Boss was sooo right. You CAN'T make this stuff up!

Snopes ran an article about the photos and seemed to try and 'soften the blow.' I think they actually made it worse!

These photographs are real. However, they are frequently shared without important accompanying context. The series of images were originally part of a 2009 article in a "Germany" issue of Heeb magazine, a satirical Jewish publication that ran between 2001 and 2010. (An infrequently updated version of the magazine still exists online.) In the article which originally accompanied these photographs, entitled "That Oven Feelin'," author Oliver Noble wrote that Roseanne asked to dress up as Hitler for the spread, as she believes (or at least jokingly said that she believes) that she may be the reincarnation of the Führer himself. DID is a mostly fake illness someone with a traumatic brain injury and a difficult life like Roseanne might latch onto. I've had a lot to do with former sufferers of DID/MPD for the past 12 years. Some therapists still believe in it, but the diagnosis is controversial in the psychological community. Even the chair of the DSM-IV committee wanted it removed from the book.
