Because of the Catholic belief in transubstantiation. To a Protestant, giving a Catholic communion is just symbolic. To a Catholic, giving a Protestant communion is letting sacrilege occur.

Some Protestents, like Anglicans and Lutherans, beleive in the real presence but not in Transubstantion.
IMHO the Catholic Church has a perfect right to decide who gets communion.

This reminds me of Tucker Carlon's trip to an ordinary supermarket. You can't expect him to understand ordinary things like donut shops and price tags.
