Ed The Cuomo Scandal.

I love it. Chris Cuomo gets busted, and the response of you guys is to go off on FOX NEWS!1!!

I also liked watching the toss to Don after Chris's show.

The difference here is that Fox had a worse problem with Carlson and Hammity and did nothing. They had both going to the White House talking regularly to Trump off air and did nothing. Fox deserves the scorn because they, unlike CNN didn't take steps to address their ethical problems created by their talent.

Degree of egregiousness is not the point. They are both wrong.

It very much is.

Comparing Dr. Fauci to one of the worst monsters in recent history is disgusting, inflammatory, shameful, insulting especially to Holocaust survivors and the families of Mengele's victims, and a lie. And she does so without a word from Fox. But your minimizing it is noted.

It may be all of those things. But it's still just saying something offensive, which isn't as bad as actually abusing power. And it's more than a little ironic that you said "Degree of egregiousness is not the point. They are both wrong." because the problem with comparing Fauci to Mengele is EXACTLY one of degrees of egregiousness. What Mengele did wrong was far worse than what Fauci did wrong. And what Chris did wrong was far worse than what Logan did wrong. You care deeply about the difference in the former case, but you want to ignore the difference in the latter case. That's hypocritical.

I mean anything actively evil, not just needing to correct a few mistakes along the way.

Oh, I'm not talking about honest mistakes. I'm saying he did things which he should have known were wrong. I'm not interested in arguing about whether or not what he did was evil, but he did far more than just make a few mistakes.

I'll give you a simple example. He said at the start of the pandemic that masks weren't effective. Now he's saying that they're required. These are contradictory positions. The switch wasn't made because of any change in knowledge. I have my suspicions about why he did this, and again, I'm not interested in labeling it as evil. But it was wrong. It undermined confidence in the CDC and the government in ways which continue to do harm today and which cannot easily be repaired. This was a very bad thing to do. The results were easily predictable. He should have known better.

And that's really just the tip of the iceberg.

Of course, it's not "the tip of the iceberg". If Ziggurat had had anything better, he would have used it.
The evidence for the efficacy of face masks was not as strong at the beginning of the pandemic as it is now, which may have had something to do with Fauci's reluctance to recommend them to the general public. Making sure that there were enough face masks for hospital workers before ordinary people started hoarding them may have been another reason.

It is absurd that Ziggurat is now blaming Fauci for anti-masking, which seems to be particularly popular among people of Ziggurat's persuasion who hate Fauci!

It's absurd that a discussion about dirtbag Chris Cuomo has turned into a condemnation of FOX news over comments made about of Fauci.

Regarding Cuomo and CNN. I expect CNN doesn't want to lose him, and they know sometimes people have fairly short memories. Maybe they will just let this thing cool off, and bring him back like they did with wank-monkey Toobin.

Do you see anyone here supporting what Cuomo allegedly did? NO. Do you see him being allowed to remain on air? No. But at the risk of comparing that to Fox and being told we shouldn't do that (a risk I'll take):

You can finger wag all you want but it only exposes your own hypocrisy. Not a good look, Sir.

She said something you find offensive.

Chris abused his power to protect a sexual predator at the expense of the victims.

These are not comparable.

Logan claimed that

She reminds me of Trump with his "People are saying...." lies.

She lied about this, too:

Talk about fake news!

It very much is.

Once again, you miss the entire point in your effort to minimize FOX's failure to apply consequences. That Logan could say something so disgusting and offensive to millions of people (not just me, Zig!) and remain completely free of consequences from FOX is outrageous. The DEGREE of egregiousness between what Logan said and what Cuomo did isn't the point: they were both egregious but only ONE has suffered consequences. THAT is what I 'care deeply about'.

Hyperbolic 'outrage' over what the "libs" do and minimizing what the right wing does has become just another predictable right wing tactic.

Because this thread is about the right-wing.

Talk about a predictable response, lol.

And that's really just the tip of the iceberg.

Is it?

That was about the only legitimate complaint you could have had, unless you get your medical information from an uncertified optometrist senator who thinks he knows more about immunology than actual immunologists.

What’s the rest of your iceberg, Zig? Have you been taken in by the uncertified optometrist?

Don’t be such a thin-skinned narcissist.
