The Biblical Realities of Hell

Gehenna is the one I was thinking of..... and it was a valley used for buring the trash - later (in loving memory) upgraded to hell. Apparently, btw, Sheol as it is used was first use in the late 1500s. Make of that what you will!!

Going to the Dump is hell, I know hate to go there.

Don't you just love how much people know about things they never ever seen and/or been too.

Paul

Especially when they insist on telling people they don't know about them while chiding these people for not believing it.

I said tremors?
We were talking about hell? I don't know where all this is going.
Hell separation from God.Hell on Earth maybe a withdrawal of Gods protection, the wrath hasn't even started.
This all maybe for a reason… as in humility, because we all think we know it all and can do something to stop it all.
I’m sure if Gods wrath were upon us we would know for sure.

I don't think he has to intervene as we kill the planet.
A rapid global change brought up by our selfishness will probably cull most everyone anyway according to past history.
Who knows?
:)

Since hell is separation from god and atheists are already separated from god then we're already there and have nothing to fear.

You mean god has abandoned the dump? I thought he was everywhere.
Seems to be a lot of Hells going around.

6. So the skeptics are in agreement that there is no after life, if this is the way you want to believe.
A person who wants to believe something isn't a skeptic, that is more of a religious thing. Skeptics are more interested in what is actually true, regardless of what anyone wants.

The title of his thread should have been, "The Biblical Non-realities of Hell".

And once again, as many of you guys know, they love to talk to us as if we have never ever heard what they have to say before.

The bad part is that their beliefs are reflected into their everyday thoughts, has much has the brain can compartmentalize things, it isn't perfect, and “things believed” will spill over into the real world and how they think it works.

How smart you are but to God they are all civil.
What happens if you beat up your mother, is that not dishonor?
Do we have a law against it today?

I am dumbfounded. That has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever seen in one of your posts. You are claiming that laws against assault are based on the Holy Commandment of "honor your mother and father."

I sit here slackjawed at your statement. I'm trying to pretend it was a joke, but I cannot convince myself that you meant it as humor.

Only God can judge the things we don’t in ways we can't.
We could get into the divorce issues that are in the law about adultery and who wins the judgments.
But I would rather not.

What are you talking about? It's against the law to beat up anyone. If you call your parents a foul name would you get arrested, probably not. You'd have dishonored them but as no crime was committed you would not go to jail.

As for adultery, ever hear of no fault divorce? You'll also note that idolatry and blasphemy and not illegal in most places anymore. You can break to the first two commandments in most places to your heart's content without fear of legal consequences.

Bolding by me:
By man but not by God.
There are exemptions even in the bible, but we are talking about where there are not as in one of the spouses are cheating.
In other words anything you do that upsets your parents.
Anything you do to upset God.

The point is also, that many will avoid prosecution of mans' laws but you won't be able to avoid it when God judges a person.
Judgement could be that you accept the fact that you are not perfect and know when you were wrong, so that all may be saved.

What if you steal from your parents or kill them or anything, just because it's listed as an assault crime or murder doesn't diminish it as something less or more than dishonor.

Just because you won't believe or accept the Christ doesn't mean you are not part of God or have a part of God in you.
Morality is part of God that we all have in us from birth unless you are lacking
a conscience, which I doubt.
The morality that you have, even as a nonbeliever, comes from God.
The problem comes from not listening to it or realizing where and what it is.

So if you say that you are morally superior with out believing the bible, that might be true but where does your superiority come from?
Your own choices help but this may be your blessing and you do not even know it.
Take it one step further and don’t brag on the fact and understand it.
Don’t be angry by what I tell you, no yelling or screaming or blasphemes statements.
Understand that you are not so bad off and there is still time.

You payment for your works will be the same as a Christian who was one all his life, even in your last minutes and that is biblical.

No fear, no anger, no shame.
These are your lessons for today.

Bollocks to your lesson.

No, it doesn't.

However, in order to commit atrocities in the name of religion, a belief in God is helpful.

But edge, you were talking about civil laws, or the laws of people. There are no civil laws that force one to honor parents at all times (e.g. "Every Sunday, you will call your mother or pay a penalty.") There are no civil laws which require one to recognize one god or to keep from building false idols.

Just because you won't believe or accept the Christ doesn't mean you are not part of God or have a part of God in you.

Utterly and completely untrue.

My morality doesn't allow me to buy and sell other human beings. My morality would never allow me to murder my own child to please a god. My morality doesn't allow me to tell other women what to do with their own bodies. My morality allows me to make my own decisions about what to do with my time seven days each week. My morality isn't ever offended when somebody worships a "false idol."
Understand that you are not so bad off and there is still time.
Time for what? The time to believe in the truth of fairytales is in childhood. That ship has sailed.
These are your lessons for today.
:boggled:

There are people that believe that morality only comes from some so-called god. If one thinks that without that we would just kill and steal without fear they are some of the shallowest people I know. One would think that we would have never gotten out of trees with that type of thinking. Seeing that we did, way before this poor idea of a god, that god of theirs has no weight to it and should be put back under heap there it belongs.
