All true prophets were called false prophets by worldfly types like yourself, so that is hardly an indictment until the Lord calls someone a false prophet. And that is usually reserved to the Peace and safety types who love the system and swallow their lies like false skeptics.
hmmm...
i can't post links yet, but wander over here and see what you think.

and, yes, it's a
very pro-biblical site. but to sum up why i'm posting this:
"Proving Yahuweh right, the translators of every popular English Bible carelessly and inaccurately replaced Yahuweh’s personal name with "
LORD" and yet carefully and accurately transliterated
Satan’s moniker as "Ba’al." These clerics, scholars, and pastors demonstrate a greater respect for the
Adversary than they do for the Creator and Savior."

(this site is an amazing collection of reasons that the traditional average american christian is not worshiping the god they believe they are. for a true believer this should be really scary stuff. )
"Baal (
baʕal; Hebrew: בעל) is a Northwest Semitic title and honorific meaning "master" or "lord" that is used for various gods, spirits and demons particularly of the Levant, cognate to Assyrian
belu.
At first the name Baal was used by the Jews for their God without discrimination, but as the struggle between the two religions developed, the name Baal was given up in Judaism as a thing of shame, and even names like Jerubbaal were changed to Jerubbesheth: Hebrew
bosheth means "shame".
Zondervan's Pictorial Bible Dictionary (1976) Since
Ba‘al simply means 'Lord', there is no obvious reason why it could not be applied to Yahweh as well as other gods. In fact, Hebrews generally referred to Yahweh as "Adonai" (lord) in prayer (The Word "Hashem" - The Name - is used in everyday speech). "
