... and it was triggered by Trump's "tapes" tweet!
I have a feeling nothing is going to become of this.
Comey thinks it is very significant that Trump kicked everyone including the AG out of the Oval Office to have the Flynn conversation.
I have a feeling nothing is going to become of this.
Technically we don't know if he's guilty of any crimes. He may be, or may not be. That's the point of the investigation.Trump is alot of things, some of em bad, but you abject haters are gonna have admit that he isn't guilty of any crimes as of yet.
There is a saying: Ignorance of the law is no defense.Comey has given his opinion of Trump's awkwardness and his lack of understanding "procedure" and nothing else.
If they think keeping him in office results in better policies for America while at the expense of their reputation isn't that country over party?
Stretch Armstrong would be impressed.Since it is not the same thing there is exactly zero hypocrisy.
Ok on 3) but I'm not sure that the "which we weren't" in 2) implies that he told Trump this on that occasion.
Just imagine what would have happened if the Attorney General had met in private with the husband of someone under investigation by the FBI.
Oh, wait...
See, it's not even your current outrage that I mind. It's your complete hypocrisy and ignorance about the kind of stuff that's been going on for a long time.
Why not? That scenario explicitly seems constructed that they are emphasizing the well being of their country.
Look, this is honestly terrifying. I don't know if you believe this or are just playing devil's advocate, but if you sincerely cannot distinguish the two, and I would say you are well above average in terms of intelligence when it comes to Trump defenders, we are seriously **********.
Here are a list of things that make that meeting different:
1) Bill Clinton could not fire Lynch.
2) Lynch admitted that meeting was a problem and yielded to the FBI. She did not make any decisions on the investigation.
3) The contents of the meeting were very innocuous according all participants. There was no point at which Bill asked for a loyalty oath or requested that the investigation into the emails end.
4) Lynch was not fired.
5) Pretty much everyone agreed the meeting was very stupid, but ultimately meaningless given Bill's total lack of power in that setting. Your boss asking you to do something is quite different from you co-worker's husband asking you to do something.
Will add more, if necessary.
And, of course, the hypocrisy runs in the opposite direction: If you think the Lynch-Bill meeting was meaningful, this stuff from Trump should set your hair on fire.
He should have stood up, bent the gooseneck mic down to the tabletop, and backed away like 'I'm out, peace!'Comey: "It struck me as him saying, 'Who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?' "
