Let me give an example of what I am asking for. What false belief did Americans have that was due to a Russian disinformation campaign?
This is an example of a disinformation campaign from US intelligence and the US media
“In a Knight Ridder poll, 44 percent of Americans reported that either “most” or “some” of the Sept. 11 hijackers were Iraqi citizens. The answer is zero.”
CS Monitor, March 14, 2003
So almost half of all Americans believed that some or most of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqis. This is false.
Now, I want an example of a false belief that Americans had due to a Russian disinformation campaign. For almost 3 years we've been hearing about how Russia attacked our democracy, how Russia influences our elections etc. I'm sure all these statements weren't just Deep State propaganda phrases put out by western media to fool weak minded individuals, right???
So let's have some specific examples and data.
Out of those 44 percent, exactly how many came to the erroneous belief due to one or more disinformation campaigns? Please list specific individuals who came to this erroneous belief and the exact piece or pieces of disinformation that they used to come to their belief.
