On the other hand, Trump got 100k more popular votes in Florida, Gore's bete noir. So he might also be feeling pretty smug about putting Florida beyond dispute, which Bush failed to do. In fact, Trump won Florida by a larger margin (both raw votes and percentage) than Obama did in 2012.

I'm sure Trump wishes he had won all the votes. But I think he's got reason to feel good about winning the popular votes that mattered, in the states that mattered, and without the tiresomeness of a recount slapfight.

Now that's just funny. He started a slapfight about the vote count the morning after the election and hasn't shut up about it.

Nah. Trump has talked some **** about vote counts. Gore started a legal complaint and took it to the Supreme Court.

Like so many of the anti Trump disaster artists, you're talking about words instead of looking at deeds.

Many observers think he made a big mistake by not more fully embracing Clinton's record (eight years of peace and prosperity, concluding with a budget surplus), and welcoming his help.
Oh I was one of those observers who thought that was an error on Gore's part. Still the irrational hatred of all things Clinton has been underestimated time and time again. I maintain that Gore's razor-thin loss in Florida ultimately boiled down to the Clinton Administration taking the rap for the bad optics of the Elian Gonzalez case.

But that's neither here nor there. The point is that if the only argument against impeachment is political (as opposed to Constitutional), then you must impeach or you are, by definition, being politically-motivated. Party over country is a breach of the oath of office.

Deeds? Like appointing a blue ribbon panel to investigate just where his three million vote deficit came from?

Further, with Trump Memes the words are the deeds. Words, words, words and more words. He was smugly satisfied that he won the election, but he's smugly satisfied about life, in general. The Dems taking the Florida election to the Supremes was an actual case based on data. Trump taking his "case", based on rumor and innuendo to a panel of cronies (who found so little to go on that even with their biases couldn't do a decent Barr Job on the findings) is a quite different case.

Well, unlike Trump, Gore actually had a legit complaint. There you go being black and white about things with no awareness of contextual details.

Seriously? You don't know the difference between a real voting problem: butterfly ballots and punchcards; and an imaginary one: millions of illegal aliens voted?

Exactly.

Blue ribbon panel.... :sdl:

Trump Tweets

James Comey is a disgrace to the FBI & will go down as the worst Director in its long and once proud history. He brought the FBI down, almost all Republicans & Democrats thought he should be FIRED, but the FBI will regain greatness because of the great men & women who work there!

Republicans must stick together!

Why do Democrats keeping fixating on the same Russia collusion lies?
Because they don’t want to admit that:
-our economy is booming
-wage growth is skyrocketing
-unemployment under @realDonaldTrump has reached historic lows
The facts don’t lie.

Too bad Trump keeps lying about the facts.

I am absolutely certain that theprestige will acknowledge that this action does matter and will concede the point.

Yup. Conceded. I totally forgot about the blue ribbon panel. Thanks for the correction.

What ever came of that panel, anyway?

What do you think happens when the insane, egomaniacal, wannabe-authoritarian orders someone to find something that simply isn’t there?

He put a complete sycophant (Koblach, the self-defeating voter fraud hunter who is now infamous for lying to judges and being in contempt of court for trying to deny people the right to vote). They made inquires and the part of the panel that wasnt made up of Trump toadies (and most of the panel that was) realized there was nothing at all to Trump’s insanity they made excuses about how lawsuits were preventing them from doing their work (which is utterly laughable). So they quietly disbanded the panel and hoped that, like you, the sycophant crowd would forget.

Hey, it's just an issue of where the (lack of) ends justifies the means.

As long as nothing comes out of it in the end, it doesn't matter what nonsense goes on.
