The complaint is that Trump does horrible stuff. My rebuttal is that the stuff he actually does isn't particularly horrible.

Anti-Trumpists also have a huge equivocation problem. You equivocate between words and deeds. You equivocate on what I'm actually excusing.

Having a bad idea fail (like the voting commission) is worst than succeeding.

The topic of the thread is an investigation into whether Trump broke the law or abused his power.

Yes, that investigation is completed and outlined how Trump abused his power and the ways he could be held accountable for doing so.

Is what I said in my last post still true or is Trump above the law?

If she was part of Russia 2016 campaign operation, odd that Mueller wasn't interested...
RT @texan_21c: @ByronYork She was an unregistered agent of Russia infiltrating powerful GOP organizations. This was very much a part of Russia’s influence campaign. Why do you downplay this?

So now the Radical Left Dems don’t talk about Collusion anymore, because the Mueller Report said there was No Collusion, they only want to talk about Obstruction, even though there was No Obstruction or No Crime - except for the crimes committed by the other side!

Does anyone here believe Trump is telling the truth?

Democratic leaders don't want to talk about the criminal conspiracy their party was involved in related to the illegal spying on @RealDonaldTrump Their mentality these days is to try to jail political opponents, no matter the rule of law. I was NOT going to fire Bob Mueller, and did not fire Bob Mueller. In fact, he was allowed to finish his Report with unprecedented help from the Trump Administration. Actually, lawyer Don McGahn had a much better chance of being fired than Mueller. Never a big fan!

Someone is fooling about 40% of Americans. Many of those aren't fooled, of course. They know exactly what's going on but they're just horrible – deplorable one might say – people with no interest in what being an American is supposed to be about.

Yes, this is correct. Many of them don't mind an authoritarian, criminal president, as long as it is a Republican one. There are people who wear shirts saying things like "better a Russian than a Democrat" and the like. It makes sense, though, because the Russian dictator hates the same things they do: homosexuals, womens' rights, Muslims, brown people...etc.

There's also an interview the remaining cultists should listen to, between Aaron Mate and his father:

You're right, they should, but they probably won't. It's a little like when right-wing terrorist acts just have to be the acts of Muslim extremists - until somebody finds the right-wing manifestos behind them. It just has to be foreigners, not home-grown, all-American perpetrators. Putin must have bought or extorted Trump into doing what he does - as if American society itself would be unable to create this kind of psycho.

These people are wiser than you.

“It’s a much more comforting narrative to believe that some enemy is doing this to us than to look at what does this say about us as a society. It was a massive denial of the actual dynamics in American society that led to the election of this traumatized and traumatizing individual as president.”

The russians did not do this. The american people were perfectly capable of doing this to themselves.

“The Democrats have nothing. Just want to distract from this President. The FBI was not doing its job, the State Department was covering things up everyday for Hillary. At the end of the day they’re fearful of what they did, and should be fearful. This is a tough.....

....President who is willing to have the battle, and we have a great Attorney General who is willing to lead the battle, and they are going to get to the bottom of it.” @EdRollins @LouDobbs

Think of it. I became President of the United States in one of the most hard fought and consequential elections in the history of our great nation. From long before I ever took office, I was under a sick & unlawful investigation concerning what has become known as the Russian....

....Hoax. My campaign was being seriously spied upon by intel agencies and the Democrats. This never happened before in American history, and it all turned out to be a total scam, a Witch Hunt, that yielded No Collusion, No Obstruction. This must never be allowed to happen again!

Hmm? Every time I see comments like this, I find myself wondering a little. It's been pretty clear, this entire time, that Americans, especially the Republican Party (but certainly not only them) are responsible for, say, at least 95% of the weighted reasons that we have Trump. The Russian contribution was a largely illegal contribution and very likely was enough to tip the scales to Trump's victory. It got attention precisely because it was illegal, foreign, and extremely... unseemly, as it should. Trump and campaign acted in an extremely suspicious manner on that front, so that, too, received attention, as it should.

None of that changes that Americans were responsible for just about all the main reasons that Trump won, of course, and when I see comments like the quoted, I wonder what, exactly, the point is? Pretty much everyone who has a problem with the Russian attacks on our Democracy is well aware that Americans are the major reason for and bear responsibility for Trump's victory, as far as I've seen, and that most of this situation came to be via perfectly legal methods.
