Keyes vs. Obama

The problem people have with Keyes isn't that is from another state, it's that he criticized Hillary for doing the same exact thing. Then he says he's doing this because he doesn't like Obama's voting record, when his voting record is pretty much mainstream democrat positions.

Obama was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review so he's obviously got something going on. As for being half black, you have to remember that according to the old Jim Crow laws, which the current black leadership in this country apparently subscribe to, a person is black if they have 1/8th negro blood. That makes Obama black. Tiger Wood too. Halle Barre too.

Allan Keyes is a great intellect. A boring one, as evidenced by the ratings for his MSNBC talk show but a great intellect non the less. I also understand that, as a carpetbagger, he'll receive one complementary Cubs hat and ticket to a game where he'll likely be booed like all politicians should be.

I am looking forward to the debate

Which voting record?

From an article I read:

Keyes, who also has run two unsuccessful Senate campaigns in Maryland, criticized Obama's support for gun control and abortion rights, and his opposition to the war in Iraq.

Support for gun control, abortion rights, and opposing the war in Iraq (well now anyway) are pretty mainstream positions in the party. It's clear that Obama's voting record is just a BS excuse.

Keyes enjoys a special distinction.

He may be the one person on the political landscape more sanctimonious that Bill Bennet.

Excuse me? Keyes is in his mid-fifties. He's had one career as a diplomat whose greatest accomplishment it seems was opposing sanctions against S. Africa.

You're excused. Keyes was a Foreign Service Officer for US State Department during 1979-83. He was Ambassador to the U.N. Economic and Social Council, Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations, and Interim President of Alabama A&M University. He has a Ph.D. in Government Studies from Harvard University. And Obama? Well, he's a ... er .... rising star. Me too! I have plans to be King of France! :D

Huh? Please explain how Keyes, a man who has lost every political race he has ever entered over the past sixteen years, can possibly be described as a "rising star."

Mike

P.S. Obama's "plans" to become the next junior senator from the State of Illinois have a significantly greater likelihood of succeeding than your plans to become the king of France (or Keyes' plans to win the election, for that matter).

Step aside Nostradamus because those great seers Lynyrd Skynrd obviously foretold this race between Alan Keyes and Barack Obama in their song "Sweet Home Alabama (Al, Obama)." Now if we can only decipher what the rest of the lyrics mean.

OK so with my melting-pot heritage, what "colour" am I? What "heritage" do I have?

And why should anyone care?

Obama is mixed-race. He appears black and thusly people tend to see him as such. He's made no secret of his mixed heritage, just aside from "mullatto" there's no easy one word term. (Aside from "swirl", Girl6)

Of course, us mixies could always just be the "miscengiated" race. That should be fun. (Even more, if I actually spelled that right.)

De-railing done, continue on with the carpet baggers.

Oh, and I believe Senators merely need to live in the state and not in any particular district, but I could be wrong.

Indeed, Keyes is quickly becoming a sort of low-grade Harold Stassen or Lyndon LaRouche...making his living by running for office and firing up an scary though thankfully small portion of fringies...

Unh, U.S. Senators have districts? Er. No.

Perhaps I'm saying what you intended, I'm not sure.

Ahh...sorry, my misunderstanding. I thought you were continuing the hypocrisy context from the first sentence to comment on Keyes' voting record as compared to Obama's.

Here's a good a thread as any to bring this up.

How long before he gets called "Obama bin Laden"?

Obama was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review so he's obviously got something going on.

In a politically correct redoubt like Harvard Law School, such elective positions count for zero.

He may be the one person on the political landscape more sanctimonious that Bill Bennet.

Another pure idiot-level slur from you. Keyes is very personable and has a sense of humor -- he isn't sanctimonious at all.

I guess if you knew what sanctimonious meant, you wouldn't be making a fool of yourself.

Unfortunately I have to agree ... with the inept Illinois republican establishment, and the liberal media establishment getting just SQUEELY over the fact that a young BM (wheeeeeee!!!) who can pronounce "th" (eeeeeee!!!!!) and can emit phrases ("there's no republicans or democrats - just americans" ooo! eee! ooooooo!!!) that would make Edwin Newman look for a new profession, it's an uphill fight for Keyes. It'll boil down to massive free LME coverage for Obama vs. Keyes' high intellect and relevent experience.

I guess if you knew what sanctimonious meant, you wouldn't be making a fool of yourself.

I do know what it means, and I suspect your foolishness goes a lot deeper than vocabulary. :)

Your childish suspicions are as unconvincing as the rest of your assertions.

Your childish suspicions

Suspicions?? What are you talking about???

are as unconvincing as the rest of your assertions.

How can one convince an idiot? :)
