He sure seems bipolar to me (but IANAP) and I'd guess if he is, he could be in a manic phase now, what with this publicity and the release of a new album. A lot of artists channel their mental illness into creativity.
So, you never did anything while off your meds that you don't stand by when on them? I don't get reaction at all. There's a genuine lack of understanding/support for mental health issues in our society, and I'm personally disgusted by how we casually write off people in need as being 'crazy'.
So now some rich privileged narcissist ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ tries to write off his douchebag behavior as being some questionable 'mental illness' issue you're expected to give sympathy for. Yeah, that's going to help people who genuinely need help and support.
Again, even off meds I don't recall ever saying one positive thing about the NSDAP. I'll cry a single tear for every day this famous ◊◊◊◊ has actually had to suffer from his supposed 'condition'.
I don't anticipate needing a single tissue.
He's also clearly mentally ill. May well be a douche bag but also, clearly mentally ill. This particular dude is not bipolar. He's single-polar unapologetic pure ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. Note he doesn't have a second speed other than flaming douchebag, unless there is a check in it for him, where we are treated to a brief and scripted mea culpa.
I dunno. Maybe I haven't been exposed to enough of his behavior, but I've only ever seen an obnoxious twat that seems fully in control of his faculties. He's also clearly mentally ill. May well be a douche bag but also, clearly mentally ill.
Sure, he's rich as hell and it cushions downsides quite a bit, but he is clearly mentally ill and everyone once in a while goes of the rail.
Well, he's nearly 50-year-old Black man who started self-identifying as a Nazi about 5 years ago. He's been relatively famous for a good 30 years before that without sporting swastikas, so I'm comfortable with saying that about 5 years ago he almost certainly stopped taking some very important medication.I dunno. Maybe I haven't been exposed to enough of his behavior, but I've only ever seen an obnoxious twat that seems fully in control of his faculties.
And your experience with Bipolar type-I is?This particular dude is not bipolar. He's single-polar unapologetic pure ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. Note he doesn't have a second speed other than flaming douchebag, unless there is a check in it for him, where we are treated to a brief and scripted mea culpa.
I think this stems from a common misunderstanding of the word "psychosis". It doesn't mean "psychopathic". Psychosis, in its most basic form, is manifested as an inability to distinguish reality from fantasy. Psychotic disorders will manifest in many ways - usually pre-primed with whatever the person is going through at the time. Highly religious peoples' psychosis often manifests in talking to angels or to God or to Satan. Conspiracy theorists believe in aliens, or that the government is plotting against them. In Ye's case, this phase of his psychosis appears to have manifested itself in Nazism, and yes, it is pretty worrying where that priming came from.Psychotic/manic people generally don't foam at the mouth or lick windows, much as you would like to believe the movies.
It's quite common for disorders like Bipolar (type-I or type-II) to get worse as a person ages. This is why constant consultation with mental health professionals is required, because the treatment plan may have to change over time. In this case, it's entirely possible that the meds he was on just stopped working as well as they used to. That happens. I know someone who has cycled through a whole bunch of different meds with varying side effects. No antipsychotics are entirely without side effects.plus, you can develop mental illnesses later in life. idk what he's got going on but it's something
Likely similar to yours. I took multiple psyche courses in college including abnormal psyche, my wife is a psychologist (as are many of her colleagues in our social circles) and in working with actual diagnosed bipolars, the literature is everywhere at home and the occasional subject of discussion between us, and like most people, I've got a few diagnosed bipolars in my friends and family circles. And your experience with Bipolar type-I is?
Only a proper doctor can update West's diagnosis from "batcrap" to merely "crap"; but either way I'm free to dislike him as an individual. I think he's done more harm than good in his time in the public eye and everyone --including himself-- would be better off if he retired and lived the rest of his life in uneventful quiet.
It is correct that neither of us is a mental health professional and neither of us has any business engaging in remote diagnosis. But we do it anyway, because that's what people do and here on an obscure internet forum there's little harm that can come of it.Bottom line: you gave a lay opinion about a celebrity's state of mind, and I gave one. We seriously going to do dueling credentials on this, or acknowledge that neither of us is remotely at the level of 'no doubt' about his inner workings?

WTF? Gonna need a source for that. The foaming at the mouth, lolling tongue, rolling eyes etc. were symptoms of long term use of anti psychotic medication, not the underlying illness.

Not what I was talking about. Not the same thing.
I thought they were symptoms of an epileptic seizure. The foaming at the mouth, lolling tongue, rolling eyes etc. were symptoms of long term use of anti psychotic medication, not the underlying illness.
