July 2007 Stundie Nominations

Who was probably a troll anyway. He had fewer than 20 posts, and most of them were trollish--act like a conspiracist, and then indignantly claim that he wasn't, and that everyone was jumping to conclusions about him, persecuting him, etc.
Help! Help! I'm being repressed!
The problem with Malcolm is he just hasn't got the arrogance of Stundie. Stundie would drop one of his clangers and type HAHAHAHAHAHA after it.

The actually quote on the bottom of the stundie is taken from a post of his which if memory serves. was

"HAHAHAHAHA I've said it before and I'll illiterate again"

Which is pure 24 carat gold. Malcolm is a lying, deceitful obnoxious, clueless [rule8] but he doesn't have stundie's charm.

Actually, it's way, way funnier in context:

Bear with me here; this is my first nomination.

From the thread Lyte started regarding an analogy from pomeroo:

It is not scientific thinking to dismiss an entire category of evidence based on the hypothetical notion that physical evidence "trumps" eyewitness testimony.

That is never how investigators, juries, or true critical thinkers look at evidence.

The DNA was provided for by the suspect so nobody knows for sure where it really came from and the validity of the chain of custody can not be independently verified.

The physical evidence is questionable on many levels and even admittedly by the government as being "counter-intuitive".

To simply dismiss all other evidence on this basis is a pure logical fallacy and not the least bit scientific.

Incorrect.

Printed words are not first hand under any circumstances (unless notarized) and they are not "analog".

Video taped testimony direct from the witness is first hand whether or not it's analog or digital.

I had no idea that only recordings are first hand.

I put Lyte on ignore yesterday. First time I've ever used the ignore function of a forum.

All his threads make much more sense with his posts filtered out of them.

The Twoofers over at LCF have discovered the "ice paticles around the shuttle == UFO wars" videos. They describe them as "banned" videos, which is odd, as I must have seen them on Fox about a thousand times in the early 90's, but whatever. One comment stood out for it's Stundieliciousness, though. Earthquake:

Apparently the flash came from the shuttle. I believe it was photographing the earth or something.

...because when you're taking photos from orbit, you really do need the flash....

I thought Malcolm was a shoo-in, but really, some of these are stiff competition indeed.

I suggested to Malcolm that if he wanted to improve his chances he might consider explaining to us how he thought gravity worked, but got ignored.

I would like to throw in a last minute nomination from another board. In Science, Medicine, Mathematics and Technology, there is a thead called "Rittjc's'How old is the Earth' thread."

Post 303 by Rittjc, a "young earth creationist," contains the following paragraph:

Again, the gross ignorance that public schools indoctrinate students with is why most people don't understand the simple principle of sedimentation. The evolutionists love it that way, because then the next generation cannot challenge their ridiculous conclusions. This is why they go emotionally ballistic if someone challenges their theories in the arena of academics. It is a threat to the very sanity of the evolutionist. They MUST go unchallenged! To be challenged is unthinkable because evolution cannot possibly defend itself against a creation idea. If school children are given the choice, the Nazi evolutionists would not be able to keep them ignorant. And it make sense because the first thing the Nazis did in WWII was kill off all of the Jewish intellectuals. Knowledge by the general public is dangerous to evolution and why evolutionists are such zealots to make sure the curse of ignorance they push on the young is not challenged or broken. In the end they will lose. Truth always triumphs.

Sorry I haven't figured out how to make the quote refer back to the original post.

Easy way, click on the "quote" button at the bottom of the post, then copy the entire contents of the resulting reply field into the "post quick reply" field for this thread. Edit quoted post as desired, but retaining the
tags intact. Add your own comments. Post quick reply.

Rolfe.

PS. That's a corker by the way. And it gets to Godwin's Law in pretty short order!

Wow, bruto, that's a corker indeed! Evilution a Nazi conspiracy, eh? Whodathunkit! Teh Joooos coulda spilt the beans so they had to go!

This just in...

In LCF, our boy LUCUS posts this gem explaining how clouds form:
Not to burst your bubble buddy, but clouds are not formed in the way you think they are.

Cosmic rays play an important part in cloud formation, not the sun. Cosmic rays are formed when a star goes NOVA. The universe is full of them. The sun evaporates water and causes humidity, not cloud formation.

If the sun was the only reason why water evaporated, then why does water evaporate in a complete controlled environment with no sun rays?

That's because cosmic rays blast right through everything, including the water and force it to evaporate.

We'll file this under "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing". There is evidence that cosmic rays have an effect on cloud formation. See:

Of course, his idea that it's the cosmic rays causing the evaporation of water is less than correct. In fact, you need some fancy equipment to detect the effects of cosmic rays at the surface of the Earth:

Where can I find the flux and energy distribution of neutrons and charged particles at the Earth's surface?

Actually very few charged particles in cosmic rays reach the Earth directly --most of the particles are either deflected by the Earth's magnetic field or interact with the air molecules in our atmosphere. We do monitor the secondary distribution of particles that are produced in the ensuing air showers from cosmic ray interactions in the atmosphere. These measurements are accomplished with neutron monitors which are located all over the world. An excellent place to learn more about neutron monitors and even get data is at the Space Physics Data Facility website.

So, typical Twoofer misunderstanding of physics, High Energy Particles Edition.

I can see it now "Girls gone wild, for the troof".

This really was the flaw of the NIST report they should have released a soft core porn adaption, or at least had a centerfold or something. That would have made it much more believable.

Oh for the love of [rule8]

Mark "I'm Alex Jones' Dumber and more obnoxious clone" Dice has released this piece of muppetry. Girl after girl on a some West coast beach, saying "911 was an inside job". Well there's a compelling argument.

Honestly satire is bloody irrelevant here.
