Israel steps up enmity towards EU

And, if that doesn't work, the next step would be to threaten Israel that, unless it does as it's told, the ban on joining the Eurovision would be revoked...

By the way, what the heck is Israel -- or Turkey for that matter -- doing in the Eurovision in the first place? Since when is Israel in Europe?

Correctamundo.

Israel would not be allowed to join the EU, what with its appalling human rights record and habit of breaking the law. Not that Israel would ever want to join the EU n'est ce pas? After all, it is an enemy of everything the EU stands for.

Since the "world" wrestling federation is limited to America (and maybe Mexic).

Nothing about Palestine's refusal to concede that Israel is a Jewish state as a starting point for negotiations?

And the aparthied system in Israel and the constant theft of Palestinian land and the constant abuse of palestinian human rights and the constant, collective punishment of every Palestinian in Gaza? Should we ignore all those?

You mean the rhetoric and propaganda you are using? Of course. Care to make a valid argument now?

'... Israel has said it will not meet a delegation of European foreign ministers, including William Hague, this week as diplomatic pressure mounts on its government to extend a 10-month settlement freeze that ends next week.

The Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, yesterday told Tony Blair, the Middle East envoy, that current restrictions on building West Bank Jewish settlements will not remain, but there would be some limits on construction. "We will not freeze the lives of the residents," he said. ...'

From http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...n-ministers-for-settlement-talks-2077572.html

It is clear from these latest developments that: -

1/ Israel remains an enemy of the EU.
2/ The apartheid government of Israel has absolutely no interest in peace and is determined to carry on stealing Palestinian land and deliberately abuse the human rights of the people they are supposed to talking peace to. This shows that the 'peace' talks, as everyone knew, are and always have been a total sham by Israel. No country on earth would put up with such behaviour when in 'peace' talks.
3/ Israel continues to demonstrate that it has nothing but absolute contempt for international law and therefore at its core it is a lawless state, hypocritically demanding that others obey laws it won't.

In the light of this contempt for the EU, the law and Palestinian human rights, the EU should now implement sanctions against the perpetrators of these barbaric acts. Every Israeli government minister and their families should be barred from entry to the EU forthwith. Any money they have in EU banks should be frozen and none of their children should be allowed to attend any college or university in the EU.

The EU should show that it is no longer prepared to sit around while the pogrom against the Palestinians goes ahead under the aegis of the USA and while yet more sham 'peace' talks are foisted on the world by the country supplying the money that props up the disgusting apartheid regime.

It is time to pull the international net tighter around the criminals in Tel Aviv.

I'm just certain you can tell me why Israel should give a flying fart about the EU. Please do so.

Ignopring the obviously false propaganda, Israel has one of the best human rights records in the world. For example, when the earthquake hit Haiti, Israel was the first country there helping. Across the world and they had their medical centers set up long before anyone else. And when the other medical centers had critical patients, they sent them to Israel's medical centers.

Israel sends 15,000 tons of humanitarian supplies to Gaza each week.

They have provided help to Kenya when those buildings collapsed and brought in specially trained dogs to help rescue trapped victims.

They were a huge part of the relief effort for India during the 2001 earthquake.

They provided help in the 1999 Greece earthquake.

They provided help in the 1999 Turkey earthquake. Israel showed up the very next day without questions.

They provided assistance and relief to the African embassy bombings.

They provided aid for the refugee camps in Cambodia.

They provided medical supplies to Rewanda during the genocide.

We could on for days listing all of the humanitarian contributions Israel has made. How about someone listing all the contributions Hamas has made?

I hear they have donated lots of bombs. bullets, guns and other weapons to poor displaced terrorists and related pieces of crap.

Wait, did you just judge EU as an enemy based on... EJ's rant? Exactly since when is a sample of 1 representative for a whole continent?

My apologies. I'm sure the real EU is perfectly cromulent. I was referring to the hilariously pointless EU that occupies a place alongside the diabolically inane Israel of EJs imagination.

With 'friends' like that who needs enemies.
The EU, apparently.

The only question is, what is your precious EU going to do about it?

(Besides cry about how they didn't get to disrupt major progress in peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority? I mean, seriously, could the EU's timing have been any worse?)

And the EU has the right to enact sanctions against pariah states that show utter contempt for human rights and international law in the way Israel has do for decades and is doing right now.

Sanctions are coming along in the not too distant future unless the apartheid state of Israel stops the human rights abuses against Palestinians and stops stealing their land.
Here it is, proof that E.J. supports collective punishment!

Pip pip.

It's because they're part of the European Broadcasting Union.

I knew there was a reason for this inhumane treatment...

By the way, about being banned from the Eurovision being one sort of punishment and being allowed into the Eurovision being a worse punishment: there is a certain chess books author whose books are notoriously bad, but for some reason very popular. The joke is that in small local tournaments, often the first prize is a book by Mr. X.

The second prize is two books by Mr. X.

That's funny! And very true about the ESC :D

Try telling your football teams that.

Would that EU also include France? You know the France that bans Bhurkas and evicts people based on their ethnicity?

That EU?
