Israel steps up enmity towards EU

4/ Isreal is secretly commanded by reptilian aliens intent on converting the holy land into a primary nesting site.
5/ Foods designated as "Kosher" are in actuality merely foodstuffs containing the proteins their alien physiology requires.

This is fun! :D

...if you're under four years old.

Certainly Scheduling meetings for the eve of yom Kippur is stupid. Can you imagine the EU dropping President Obama a note saying they want to meet him....The night before Xmas.... :)

good luck with that one.....

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
IT was The EU wanting to talk about some Crap.....

The EU should show that it is no longer prepared to sit around ...

It should, but it won't.

In this thread: We discover both how easy it is to become an enemy of the EU (e.g., tell them to mind their own business), and how inconsequential it is to have such an enemy.

Unless and until the EU is prepared to roll tanks into Tel Aviv, to impose its will by force, what does it matter to be the EU's "enemy"?

Golly, The Fool being quasi-reasonable towards Israel. I may have to mark this on my calender.

E.J., if neither Parky nor The Fool will board the wacky-wagon with you, that's a sign that you should back off a little.

actually your misperception of my attitude towards Israel is actually due to your own selective vision goggles and ingrained prejudices (with me or against me syndrome)....but you probably don't (and never will) Understand that.

Nothing about Palestine's refusal to concede that Israel is a Jewish state as a starting point for negotiations?

We may ban them from the Eurovision Song Contest!

And, if that doesn't work, the next step would be to threaten Israel that, unless it does as it's told, the ban on joining the Eurovision would be revoked...

By the way, what the heck is Israel -- or Turkey for that matter -- doing in the Eurovision in the first place? Since when is Israel in Europe?

Wait, did you just judge EU as an enemy based on... EJ's rant? Exactly since when is a sample of 1 representative for a whole continent?

Also, in football you're in Europe and Australia is in Asia. What?

I guess the Foreign Secretary supports evil apartheid Israel.

Do you understand the importance of Yom Kippur to Jews, EJ?

Given that you are the only one to use the word perhaps you could tell us all why you consider Israel to be evil?

In what way does a religious holiday change the behaviour of the apartheid government of Israel?

The government of Israel has shown its enmity to the EU, its citizens and its values very openly over decades.

Yes, and every nation has the right to tell the old colonials powers to shove it. Not that Israel is actually doing that in this case.
And the EU has the right to enact sanctions against pariah states that show utter contempt for human rights and international law in the way Israel has do for decades and is doing right now.

Sure they do. They have every right to do business with whomever they choose. But they like doing business with Israel.
Sanctions are coming along in the not too distant future unless the apartheid state of Israel stops the human rights abuses against Palestinians and stops stealing their land.

[See, if we use your "logic", the US and several EU countries should be at war with Japan over the events depicted in Whale Wars.

Your definition of enemy is simply not the one the civilized world uses.[/QUOTE]

Au contraire. Those comment is aso demonstrably utter nonsense.

Japan has not murdered US citizens on US soil, as Israel has done in the EU. Japan has not stopped US aid getting to any state as Israel has done to EU aid to Palestine. Japan has not abused the sovereignty of the USA by counterfeiting US passports to murder someone as Israel has done to many EU states. Japan has not lied to the US about murdering people and counterfeiting its passports as Israel has done to the EU. Japan has not endangered the lives of US citizens deliberately and as a matter of official policy as Israel has done to the EU.

Israel has clearly demonstrated its enmity for the EU in very many ways. The EU has previously just rolled over and accepted the appalling behaviour of the pariah state. No longer. The international net is closing ever faster around the human rights abusers in Tel Aviv. They and their families should not be allowed entry to the EU.

Its a disgusting shame that anyone supports the human rights abuses of the apartheid state. But that is clearly their choice and their shame.

I always find it difficult to say anything of value on these threads, given the subject matter so heavily treads on Poe's law. But per the OP; I respectfully disagree.

Perhaps you could tell us all exactly what you are disagreeing with.

That Israel has an appalling human rights record, despite all the evidence that it is utterly contemptuous of Palestinian human rights? That Israel is not an enemy of the EU, despite all the evidence to the contrary? That Israel is not stealing Palestinian land despite all the evidence to the contrary?

Do tell.

Same old wailing. Same old loaded buzzwords. Same old whinging that Israel is able and willing to defend itself.

Do you actually have any argument to offer?

Why does Israel have such an appalling huan rights record? Why is Israel such an avowed enemy of the EU?

Care to share anything other than .... nothing?

E.J.
Keep this up, you'll turn me into a Zionist.

Keep what up exactly?

You could be turned into a supporter of the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians? Really? How utterly sick.

Why should the EU turn a blind eye to the appalling human rights behaviour of Israel?

International law and human rights are just so uninteresting aren't they?

Incidentally I hear that many Usans believe Obama is a Muslim. Do Muslims celebrate Christmas?

Murdering an EU citizen on EU territory is not the action of a friend now is it?

Abusing the sovereignty of EU states in order to murder people is not the action of a friend is it?

With 'friends' like that who needs enemies.
