I told you so 6 years ago

It's about who you take seriously - so who is it?

It was about Boebert and the scotus, but primarily (I think?) a large-scale Christian plot to rule the nation and/or world? I don't know, tbh....the notion seems pretty detached from reality. It seems more like a conspiracy theory, to me.

But the point remains that dominionism is still a minority belief.

And the point is that... this point of yours is meaningless and misleading... the farmers although a minority compared to the sheep are much more able to affect the farm than the sheep.

Facts on the ground belie your assertions....

The southern state’s top law enforcement official was not the only Republican to reference God while taking a victory lap. Nor was he alone in rooting for the supreme court to continue a pattern of forcing religion back into the US political system and tearing down the wall that separates church from state.
The court – said to be more pro-religion than at any time since the 1950s – wrapped up one of its most consequential and divisive terms this week. Critics lamented a string of decisions that they say undermine legal traditions that prevent government officials from promoting any particular faith.

...

In all three cases, the court decided against government officials whose policies and actions were taken to avoid violating the constitution’s first amendment prohibition on government endorsement of religion, known as the “establishment clause”.

I told you so... now he is also telling the same

I am glad to see this lecture because the FACTS stated in it are irrefutable... but nothing new... this has been going on for decades now.

I am glad that some are paying attention finally ... but it is too late...

They have nearly fully achieved their agenda of Christian Nationalism and converting this country into a christian theocracy.... and they are not coy anymore about declaring it outright in the open for all to see...

Watch the whole video carefully ... with extra attention @minutes 8:25-9:15... and also @0:35 to 1:00... and @1:33 to 3:15

These are not just any run of the mill kooks... these are congress people and people in the highest echelons of power in this country.

We've known about the dangers of dominionism since the publication of The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power by Jeff Sharlett in 2009.

But I'd also like to take another quote out of the thread the OP came from:

Also, dominionism isn't a mainstream doctrine in most varieties of Christianity. It's a small minority of evangelical fundamentalists.

Not only isn't it mainstream in Christianity, but it *is* mainstream in other ideologies. Socialism, for example, or LGBTQ-ism. (Atheists, of course, would frame their flavor of dominionism as anti-dominionism: Not wanting to claim more space for themselves, but rather to deny to theists much of the space they currently occupy in public institutions.)

Just wait until you find out about the National Prayer Breakfast!

Huh?

Was it atheists who violently attempted to deny Joe Biden the space he currently occupies? Did atheists accuse Ilhan Omar of seeking to 'impose Shariah law on America' and target her with death threats?

All most atheists ask is that people who 'occupy space' in public institutions don't use the power of the state to force their particular religious beliefs onto others. Theists and atheists alike should be concerned about the propagation of such 'dominionism'.

If We Don’t Counter Far-Right Christianity, 1/6 Will Just Be the Beginning
For years, far-right faith groups have become increasingly intertwined with extreme conservative political beliefs like white supremacy and Christian nationalism—fundamentally changing the Republican Party and creating a fervent support network for former president Trump. Nearly one year ago, on January 6th, 2021, this growing religious and political extremism manifested itself in an unthinkable way...

This toxic brew of sermons, newscasts, and social media messaging from the far-right echo chamber has effectively weaponized Christianity. For example, polling done by the Public Religion Research Institute finds that white evangelicals, more than any other religious group, believe that Americans might have to resort to violence in order to save our country.

We’ve also seen a swell of extremist legislation in state legislatures, all under the guise of defending Christianity. Politicians claiming to be compelled by God have implemented a barrage of measures to condemn transgender people, suppress voters of color, and strip women of their reproductive freedom.

To defeat the Christian far-right and literally save our democracy, we as faith leaders and members of faith communities must actively organize to reclaim our faith as a force of good and for love. Our God is not one of hatred.

Shameless insidious blight

These insidious blight are running rampant with their callous havoc

Lindsey Graham to introduce bill that would restrict abortions nationwide

...While most people undergo abortions earlier in pregnancy, 15-week and 20-week abortion bans disproportionately affect patients with fetal anomalies, which are often detected at a 20-week anatomy scan, along with those who take longer to realize they are pregnant. These kinds of bans will also affect more people in a post-Roe America as abortion clinics struggle to accommodate a swell of patients from states where abortion is now banned....

A syphilitic blight

That this is happening in the country that put men on the moon and robots on Mars and spaceships outside the solar system and in 2022 is a sad miserable testament to the regressive and vitiating syphilitic blight that is christianity.

A Perfidious hypocritical blight

This clip demonstrates the extent of the malignancy of the blight of Christianity....

And this is the result of when those Zealots and their mafiosos get to install their Zealot judges...
... an institution that has become an undeniable arm of the Republican party, that spent its last term overturning decades of precedent in order to enshrine christofascist dogma into the U.S. Constitution, and that publicly mocked those who criticized their decisions.

Half of the population was just robbed of their bodily autonomy. One Supreme Court Justice was a member of a misogynistic religious cult while another was only confirmed after the FBI pretended to (but absolutely did not) investigate claims of sexual harassment and assault. Oh, and the wife of another justice was just questioned for her alleged role in an ongoing attempt to overturn an election. Just to name a few things the court has going on at the moment!
