Homeopathetic gains PSA accreditation

A lot of homeopathics are used for the general population for issues like Sleep (Calms Forte') and one I use for Cataract Prevention (Cineraria Maritma) -- otherwise to get into it all the way it's best to go with homeopathic doctor and do all the testing. I considered that but it's very comlicated overall.

And then there is Arnica creams and oils for joint pain which I also use.

If you're taking a cataract prevention remedy and don't develop cataracts, how do you know that it is the remedy that is preventing your cataracts?

If you can't answer that, I have this tiger repellent that I can sell you.

Did you know that James Randi, whose forum this originally was, once publically took a massive overdose of homeopathic sleeping pills - many times what would be required to kill him if they actually worked? He didn't even get sleepy.

ETA: one of my earliest experiences of the placebo effect was due to a colleague in my first job who was having trouble sleeping, but was reluctant to take something for it. He eventually put the prescribed pills and a glass of water next to his bed and, after struggling to get to sleep for some time, gave up and swallowed them. He woke up the next morning after the most restful night's sleep he'd had for a long time and was astonished to find the pills he'd thought he'd taken were still there on his bedside table. He eventually worked out he had swallowed a couple of shirt buttons his wife had left there.

This is why it is always necessary to carefully and methodically eliminate the placebo effect before concluding that any medicine is effective.

Big Placebo must absolutely love you.

What “testing” do you think a homeopathic doctor does?

In #13 Caroline claimed there is "science" to homeopathy and has been asked several times for any class of support for that claim: have I missed the reply? All this getting up at 4am to watch cricket from Chennai is playing havoc with everything.

There are some 60+ symptoms of low thyroid (HypoT) and depression is right up on top of the list, panic and anxiety, hair loss, cold hands/feet, sleeplessness, weight gain/loss, and so so many more.

I could write my own book on HypoT as I've learned so much since my early issues started in 1991, and that was about after menopause time...

If you have not been thru menopause, the body does do a lot of changing...

Missed this one: I am pretty familiar with the symptoms of an under-active thyroid, thank you.

However, a diagnosis of depression, in the UK certainly, will not be given if the patient still has a known untreated thyroid problem. The diagnosis requires depressive symptoms WITHOUT any other cause, which is not the case here. That symptom list you mention would be more accurate if it said "depressive symptoms", which is not depression per se, as they are caused by the thyroid issues.

Well it sounds sciency. That's all the wilfully ignorant seem to require.

^Unfortunately (fortunately?) I am one of those pesky folk who need more than poly-syllabic nonsense words to convince me...

I've heard a lot of that over the years, but nothing which resembles yer acksherall science. I would be delighted to be presented with something new and approaching proper evidence to give me something to think about.

Quick question for you: What would happen if I swallowed a whole bottle or packet of these in one go? Could I overdose severely?

No it isn't complicated in the slightest. Seriously, homeopathic diagnosis and prescription is remarkably simple. And the practical method is even easier than the theoretical method. Would you like to learn it? Takes no more than 30 seconds.

If your Arnica medication has any active ingredient then it is not homeopathic.

Nonsense the only way to overdose on them is to not take them, the more you take the less effective they get. So the most effective and highest risk of underdose is to think about taking one and then not, as the thinking about it will cause your water to align with the homeopathic medicine and if it does not get it, the effect will be too strong.

Once? He did it many times. At QED, the entire audience did it too.

Most of us have seen this video or one like it. This one's for you Caroline:

ED (A&E) Farce with homeopathic and other treatments like crystals.
The patient dies. :p

90% of "alternate medicine" is just plain woo...and I might be way too generous with the 90% figure.

I have a world of success with homeopathic remedies, particularly for my wonderful healing REM sleep, 8-10 hrs nightly, and and other remedies to keep my eyes in very good health at 82, no cataracts, no other eye disease and homeopathy is a huge part of keeping it this way.

And some topical homeopathics for bruises and pain are also in my arsenal, can't imagine them not in my life.

Isn't it a truth that homeopathy is used throughout the world and the least in the U.S. but it's being used more and more.

What do you use for sleep? Insomnia is the one health problem of mine I can't seem to hack.
