Hello from a non-skeptic

Garrette, I commend your civility, and apologize for having a little less patience in this instance. Am I reading right that Mr. Boden was banned from a different forum for something? Linky?
Thanks, Carlitos.

Yes, Charles invited a few of us over to the Carol Bowman Past Life Forum, as Adman has said.

Four of us accepted the invitation and joined in discussion there, as did Charles. None of the four skeptics were banned; we were, in fact, commended more than once for our civility there. "dlorde" from this forum is still regularly posting there.

Charles, however, was banned.

You'll have difficulty finding any of my posts, though. The few threads I was posting in were deleted with no reason given.

And another reason to like this forum. AFAIK, except in rare and specific circumstances, posts are not deleted--they are moved to AAH.

I'm so glad to hear this! I came very, very late to this thread, and when I went over to the other forum to read the posts there you guys were talking about, I couldn't find them. After many searches I gave up on that method and just looked at all of Charles's posts. Every last one (that's still there). Still couldn't find any of it.

I was starting to think I was going nuts. At least this tells me that, though I could be losing my sanity, this isn't a symptom of it.

You were born and raised in England? Why, that must make you a descendant of Alfred the Great!
[/Boden]

My goodness, you are right! I've already gone back to 1640 in my family tree and found several people named Alfred, and only last year, I burned a batch of cakes*. What more proof could I possibly need?

*I know that's almost certainly a myth.

I'm North American, although I prefer to be referred to as a Pacific Southwestian. Calling someone North American is just plain rude

"More farewells than Nellie Melba", as we say in the antipodes.
...or than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, or Cher, as we say in the - um - anti-antipodes(?)

OMG! My mother used to burn at least one pancake every time she made them! She must be Queen Edylgwtha!

I'll just leave this here...

Hmmm....horrible font choices, boring layout. And that's just the cover...

ETA: Sorry, that was just my mean Pacific Southwestian upbringing shining through.

As is traditional in these matters, I shall skip straight to the last page.

"And it was then that I realised that I had been, of all things, the Duke of Cumberland's Chief Eunuch..."

Nah, not really. I'm sure it will be much funnier than that.

In the Pacific Southwest, thou shall judge a book by its cover, right?

I'm hearing strains of Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma in the background. I have already gotten my money's worth!

Uhm, how many pages? Hard/soft cover? We are awaiting any comments oh great BigLes, with berated breath.

Ain't no way Charles can stay away from JREF now. He loves the attention he gets here too much, and he doesn't get to raise his voice and throw tantrums at the PLF.

'Tis a paperback of uncertain page count, for it lacks pagination. [edit] - And footnotes, references, a bibliography or even an index. It is, perhaps, 1.5cm thick.

I look forward to the review of The Boden Codex.

Well, as a group, we're fairly illeterit elletrate can't read and write good, so shiny covers with purty pictures really grab our attention. If that title had been a rainbow-gradient-filled Hobo font, I'd be all over it!

Big Le's, as you read the Boden Codex, keep in mind that Charles has apologized in advance for it, so don't be too harsh. After all, any errors in it are due to Window's.

The agent I am working with had promised to revise it before publication, which wasn't done, so indeed I apologise for some errors in it which were not seen under my own revision and actually derived from the final Window's "grammar and spell check" I made.
