Guiliani Suspended from Practicing Law

Apparently he still owns a couple of multi-million dollar mansions. He was trying to avoid selling these to pay his mountain of debts. Methinks these will shortly belong to the people he defamed.

Giuliani's bankruptcy proceeding dismissed; barred for one year from seeking further bankruptcy belief. This allows the two women he defamed proceed to collect on the judgment.

From the article:

Yeah, that's what happens when your client repeatedly commits punishable behavior. The hubris of these people...
I've been following the details of the trial and his bankruptcy. At every step he has refused to act in good faith on anything. He has not paid one cent to the victims and his intention is to never pay a cent.

Following in the footsteps of Alex Jones all the way.

And so far it's working for both of them - they both have huge defamation judgements against them, and both continue to defame.
What they need is to have to pay for someone to poke them with a cattle prod every time they open their mouth in public.

But also allows him to appeal the judgment:
A dismissal of his bankruptcy would allow Giuliani’s creditors to resume lawsuits against him, but it would also give him more freedom to appeal the $148m defamation judgment that prompted him to seek the legal protection afforded by a bankruptcy filing.

“We believe that the debtor’s best chance of getting an appellate determination would be dismissal,” Giuliani attorney Gary Fischoff said during Wednesday’s court hearing.

…snip…

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Giuliani has been suffering from some form of dementia for the past several years (as opposed to some of Trump's other attorneys, such as Sidney Powell and Lin Wood, who've probably just been lunatics their entire lives). …snip…

I think alcoholism explains it better than dementia, a so-called “high-functioning” alcoholic is still destroying themself.

ISTM that the US legal system is "broken" when people who have substantial judgements against them never have to pay them because they drag out appeals and bankruptcy processes indefinitely whilst still enjoy their current lifestyle.

Functions exactly as intended by those who write the laws to protect the wealthy. No poor people in congress or senate.

This happened Wednesday, Giuliani facing possible jail time and the termination of his bankruptcy.

Rudy didn't take it well, interrupting Rachel Strickland by yelling over the phone. (This was a teleconference hearing.)

Rudy's latest moneymaking scheme is Rudy Coffee. Here he is hawking it on a TV commercial. (Rudy needs key-a-zash!) ;)

Would you buy coffee from this man?!?

Looked that up. Turns out the company actually making the coffee is also in the middle of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Could be alcohol-related dementia.
This is what Wendy Williams was diagnosed with.
Alcohol-related dementia presents as a global deterioration in intellectual function with memory not being specifically affected, but it may occur with other forms of dementia, resulting in a wide range of symptoms.[2] Certain individuals with alcohol-related dementia present with damage to the frontal lobes of their brain causing disinhibition, loss of planning and executive functions, and a disregard for the consequences of their behavior. Other types of alcohol-related dementia such as Wernicke encephalopathy cause the destruction of certain areas of the brain, where changes in memory, primarily a loss of short-term memory,[3] are the main symptom. Most presentations of alcohol dementia are somewhere along the spectrum between a global dementia and Korsakoff's psychosis, and may include symptoms of both.[2]

The New York Times took a look at Giuliani's drinking last year. Rudy laughed it off, citing among other things, his success as a federal prosecutor. Forty years ago.

For more than a decade, friends conceded grimly, Mr. Giuliani’s drinking had been a problem...On some nights when Mr. Giuliani was overserved, an associate discreetly signaled the rest of [Manhattan's Grand Havana] Club, tipping back his empty hand in a drinking motion, out of the former mayor’s line of sight, in case others preferred to keep their distance. Some allies, watching Mr. Giuliani down Scotch before leaving for Fox News interviews, would slip away to find a television, clenching through his rickety defenses of Mr. Trump.

Mr. Giuliani was drinking heavily, according to comments Judith Giuliani [Rudy's ex-wife] made to Andrew Kirtzman, the author of “Giuliani: The Rise and Tragic Fall of America’s Mayor,” published last year. “Literally falling-down drunk,” Mr. Kirtzman said in an interview, noting that several incidents over the years, in Ms. Giuliani’s telling, required medical attention. Since he burned his last lawyers, where do these new ones appear from? Is he paying cash up front? Is some secret benefactor bankrolling all his current legal ventures?

Well, Trump held him a not-so-secret fundraising dinner a while back, but no, I don't know the current state of his legal representation.

Can he still represent himself if he's disbarred?

I thought I'd read that Trump kept all the money raised at that for himself.

This is what I found in this thread from September 2023.

Seems like they got at least 10 suckers.

Giuliani’s son, Andrew, said in a radio interview Thursday morning that the event was expected to raise more than $1 million for his father and that Trump had committed to hosting a second event at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida later in the fall or early winter.

"“So that will be very helpful,” he said on WABC radio. Still, he said, “It won’t be enough to get through this.”"

My heart bleeds. :D

Whether Giuliani ever got any of that, no, I don’t know.
