Google Earth reveals "Atlantis"

You will issue an apology to Dr. Asimov, immediately. Not sure how he'll get it, but the plagiarism is blatant!

(wasn't it Dr. A who said that plagiarism was the sincerest form of flattery? Or genius Steals, or something like that?)

Well picked up. I am a thief! Yes, I did indeed steal my response from the late Isaac Asimov, and he considered the pun the highest form of humour. I apologise, and in future will steal my puns from Spider Robinson, who is less well known than the Good Doctor.

Didn't say you had to quit--just apologize... I was beginning to think I was the only person who remembered that trivia!

You have all made the classic mistake of measuring Atlantis in term of the size of Wales. It is actually measured in whales.

Feh! Wake me when they find Lemuria and Mu, then I'll get excited.

Until then, here's a map of the pacific showing a gargantuan Archaeopteryx fossil.

"Boats use sonar to take measurements of the seafloor and the lines shown reflect the path of the boat as it gathers the data."
I don't really understand this. Can anyone explain how a boat taking sonar measurements can affect a satellite picture in this way?

It's not a satellite pic. It's a relief map made from echo soundings.

It is a little known fact that the real Atlantis was actually found by the Americal military during WWII, along with the ruins of an extemely advanced civilisation. It was kept a closely guarded secret, and indeed the exact location has never been disclosed and is unknown to this day.

At the height of the war, the USA started secretly training many thousands of female military personel on the Atlantis site, but unfortunately they were not aware of the unstable nature of the Island. They put too many people on the island, which lead to so much instability that Atlantis simply sank beneath the WAVES

Bad Norm! Bad, bad Norm!! No cookies for you!!!
(I can't believe I didn't see that coming...)

In the future, Walmarts will have aisles wide enough to accomodate cars.
Drive-thru; reach out the window to get your stuff.

I think the mapping is showing something like that, except even more grandiose.

Do they seriously expect us to fall for that old "Sampling artifact" line?
Hah!
Next they'll be telling us the bottom of the ocean isn't blue!
What colour is that picture?
Absolutely.
If Google isn't part of the NWO, who is eh? Tell me that!

My favorite was:

"Send my four hearts to Brog, Dwayne, dismember me for Harold's choir.
Tell all the goys on SortiBrackenStree, that I will soon expire."

(approximate - Google failed on this one.)

There actually is enough real scientific information about the ancient world available to us to solve the mystery of Atlantis - so that's what I've done in an 8 minute video. You can find it on youtube by searching for 'Lost History-Finding Atlantis'.

Please let me know what you think.

Can you describe it briefly here?

I prefer to read theories than have to watch them via YouTube (especially when I don't currently have sound).

Sound is important. Basically I'm saying that without domesticated crops and animals there can be no civilization. So, we start by looking where our basic crops have been genetically traced to their wild origins. Then we look when those wild crops first became available. Now we have an idea when and where to look for the earliest civilizations. But I'm a video guy, not a writer - so to take it from there you really need borrow your friends laptop, if you're interested.
