Merged Fred Phelps nearly dead/Is dead.

The hatred demonstrated by many on this forum towards genuine Christians and those who stand for true Christian morality is blatant evidence that few if any have any qualifications nor right to judge or condemn Fred Phelps.

True Christian morality? You mean "Do an arbitrary thing that, in and of itself, is morally neutral, because somehow nothing else matters morally in the end, or suffer eternal punishment?" Mormon morality is likely slightly better, depending on the subset, in the multiple "good" destinations, but even then... it's meh.

Either way, according to many sects, Fred Phelps' actions are quite irrelevant. If he honestly accepted Jesus into his heart, heaven, end of story.

I'm pretty sure "God Hates America/Jews/***s/etc" is also rather out of line with the teachings of LDS.

It is a truly sad thing to see someone waste their life so committed to an irrational hate. Fred Phelps squandered his life on ugly emotions.

There is a real lesson to be learned from that.

I don't care about that scumbag wasting his life. I care about him causing innocent people to suffer.

Here's a puzzle: if (in Janadele's apparent view) the WBC are doing good work when protesting murdered children's funerals with their God Hates Fags signs, do they still do good work in her eyes when they picket an LDS function with their God Hates Mormons signs? Or is free speech only applauded when it's protesting people Janadele disapproves of?

If I had the stomach to wade through Fred Phelps past, considering his hard line Fundy Christian beliefs, I would bet that the LDS was among the many things he hated. But I don't have the stomach.
And I guess Jandedle has not gotten the word, but the LDS official line is to downplay the Anti Gay angle...for now. It's giving the Church a bad image.

What? Really?
That's Fred Junior's first wife Debbie Valgos. Though they may not actually have married.
Personally I wouldn't go with "probably" but yes, there are serious questions about her death, an alleged drug overdose.
Mark and Nate Phelps have maintained that Valgos was murdered and that Freddie senior was "probably" involved or at least knows something about her death. Her certainly had a history of violence and control freakery towards his children.

Today is The birthday of Fred Rogers.

Today is also the day Fred Phelps died.
Didn't Phelps condemn Rogers for not attacking gays?

Rubbish. I'm neither an xian nor a Mormon and I condemn Phelps as a vile person.

That's fine then that mormon aren't really considered genuine christian by many of adherent of the major christian sect then ;).
And especially not by Phelps.

So.. Christian Morality is Hatred, and 'God hates Fags'. Got it.

I'm trying to think of something appropriate for an atheist group to do for/at any services for Phelps... ??
But I keep coming to the conclusion that as we know there is nothing left after death, all any observance there might do is to pity the guy's wasted life and mention the hate he fostered lives on after him.

Although it would be foolhardy to try to project any logical steps from same, I will take a flier on as a gay hater (though likely gay himself based on recent input) he gets a pass on also hating on Mormons.

And, thus, you perpetuate the fraud that is how most so-called christians work: most Christians follow a mixture of new and old testament stuff - even though hating people for their sins/stoning them for their sins, and praying loudly and obviously clearly violate specific statements quoted as the words of jesus. You cannot be a good christian BUT act as if the words of jesus are not the determinants of good and bad. If there is disagreement (and there is) a true christian MUST go by what jesus said OR be shown to be a liar when he/she claims something against/disagreeing with jesus' words and continues to claim the name christian. Neither you nor they can successfully argue out of that one with any level of honesty.

Christian morality is a sick, base joke the world would be well shot of. Its vile hatred masquerading as virtue is a cancer that needs to be removed. When Phelps died we removed one of the tumors. I a see no problem enjoying the fact that the world got just a little bit healthier now that the bastard is no longer exchanging oxygen.

People! Can't we all just get along and rejoice that the vile ************ is dead? Why must there be all this sturm and drang?

It's time to party!
