Merged Fred Phelps nearly dead/Is dead.

Phelps wanted people to protest at his funeral, and even talked about setting money aside in his will to pay for protesters to travel to his funeral (joking that it wouldn't be First Class).
Best not to give him what he wanted.

Animals can be capable of empathy and guilt. Phelps is more like a homunculus.
 
Today is The birthday of Fred Rogers.

Today is also the day Fred Phelps died.

Today is literally a day when love was born and hate died.

This time next year, I'm going to remember this as the birthday of one of humanity's greatest specimens. I will choose to remember love, not hate.

The hatred demonstrated by many on this forum towards genuine Christians and those who stand for true Christian morality is blatant evidence that few if any have any qualifications nor right to judge or condemn Fred Phelps.

Who the hell is Halley?

I don't need "reports," there are photos. Phelps preached raw, sheer hatred. According to members of his family, including his son Nathan, he was physically abusive and little less than a tyrant.

I will give the man credit for one thing. He exposed to a lot of people who were waffling on the issue, just how horrible homophobia is. It was Phelps and others like him that have helped turned the tide of anti-gay sentiments and laws in this country, and for that, I'm grateful. I think that really important word is missing. I think the tide turned far more by brave gays coming out in public as just ordinary citizens like you and me.

That's fine then that mormon aren't really considered genuine christian by many of adherent of the major christian sect then ;).

I think she's suggesting that because phelps didn't personally hit you with a mattock handle you don't get to judge him for hitting his children and wife with one.

It is a truly sad thing to see someone waste their life so committed to an irrational hate. Fred Phelps squandered his life on ugly emotions.

There is a real lesson to be learned from that.
