February Stundie Nominations

"The humans and aliens monitoring this planet speak every language...but telepathy seems to be in english.. "

The bloke who posted this is madder than a mattress, but this post takes your breath away. Not sure if it qualifies as a stundie, but it sure is deluded.

eta: It's an Anders special, so you might like to check out post 1:

"So my theory is that space aliens gave humanity the English language via Shakespeare and others. And via the British Empire the English language was spread all over the world."

Guffaws loudly.

Too funny to be true. I'm not too familiar with this guy, are we all sure he isn't a Poe?

He's been nominated before, and he's been at the DI forum for four years with a bit more than 3000 posts.

So, maybe.

He's a troll. He knows that conspiracist claims will garner multiple pages of the responses he so desperately craves.

Shakespeare invented a time machine, went back some centuries, invented a giant cloning machine and then stormed the British Isles posing as the Angles and Saxons.

Conclusion = Shakespeare was the greatest human being of all time and is probably now waging war on the Insectoid Mist Monsters in another dimension.

Finally, a cogent explanation for why Shakespeare foisted his scriptwriting tasks off to Francis Bacon. Or was it Francis Crick? With time travel both are equally likely. Or maybe Crick and Bacon were really the same? Has anyone seen them both at same time? No? Very suspicious.

Fakery corroborates fakery, thus informing my understanding

The fake evidence says that jfk had missing bone in the right front and temple. That is corroborated by the faked x-rays which show missing bone in those areas. But, Humes does not mention missing frontal bone in the autopsy report, but just downplays the contusion/entrance wound over the right eye. You have fake evidence that disagrees with the autopsy report and most any witness. I used the fakery to understand exactly what happened and didn't.

Wow.

The fake words in this sentence let you know just what the real words are all about.

Okay, I have a nomination from discussion on a topic which may be new to many of you.

First, a little preamble.

The MY Ady Gil was a boat operated for a short time by the environmental activist group Sea Shepherd. In the course of a “direct action” activity she collided with a Japanese whaling ship.

You can see the video of the collision here and download the official accident investigation report here. Of special interest to my point is item #96. What they bear out is that the whaler and the Ady Gil were in close quarters, and the Ady Gil helmsman throttled up, smashing her into the whaler’s side.

Among die-hard Sea Shepherd fans, though, the conspiracy theory somehow persists that the collision was a deliberate ramming on the part of the whaler.

So here’s my nomination for this month:
Of course a close minded ••• like you won't accept the facts and I don't see how you could think that the ady gil accelerated into the shonan.

This is from a guy who’s already seen the video for himself and been shown the accident report. It’s the denial of the slap-in-the-face obvious that makes it a stundie to me.

Edited to add:
The finding of the official report is that it was not a deliberate ramming; the masters of both vessels were to blame for throwing the rules of the road out the window and deliberately maneuvering in close quarters.

Over on BAUT, solon claims

The stars are only visible within the ionosphere.

When debating images from ISS, etc., he says:

OK, the goalposts are now set firm. No images through the Earths atmosphere.

When examples are presented of pictures from Hubble, deep-space probes, etc., are promptly presented, solon protests:

And telling me about Hubble and star trackers or whatever other complex instruments you can find is not what this is about. We were talking about the equipment available on the ISS or a shuttle. You guys are widening the goalposts.

Darn those interplanetary spacecraft tearing through Earth's atmosphere.

That is quality. There is a dimmer poster on that thread (dontpushme) but sadly he only writes reams of stupid, not the nice and concise sort of stupid that we need here. So you have definitely made the right pick.

Yeah, in order to appreciate the epic dontpushme "lawful authority of government" debate, one really needs to read the entire, multi-thread, multi-week conversation where the same very simple idea is explained to him by roughly six different posters, roughly six dozen times. He is still struggling with it.

.
In support of zir "I'm not a no planer, there just wasn't a plane at the WTC" thesis, 7forver observes that zie grainy youtube videos prove this by showing

No wings or propeller
.
Ummmm.

Someone help me -- how *does* a jet airliner fly, again?

No, he's real.

I'm afraid our species has produced yet another Creature from the Fringe of the Bell Curve.

(don't ask which bell curve)

:g1: Somewhere, over the Bell Curve...

I've seen the first season of Whale Wars and it was like watching the Three Stooges at Sea...only they were naive vegan idiots following a self-obsessed douchebag.

I know there's gotta be more Stundie material there. This example isn't so good, your homework is to bring us back some real gems of illogical thinking and idiocy. God speed!

I wonder if I can just say that I spoke telepathic Spanish with aliens and they made fun of my accent...

People often post LOL or ROFL and the like, but we all know it is not literal.

Just letting you know that I really am laughing out loud and there really are tears in my eyes.

Genius in action there, and I thank you.
