I've worked for people like that. It really just kills innovation. If I was Darth Vader I'd encourage a freedom to fail policy that got my spaceship commanders really thinking out of the box. We'd all have a symbolic ego deposit box by the door to the conference room and go in free to accept responsibility and analyze how we could have done things better. I didn't find any official statement about the type of jet engine found. Isn't that important to know? In order to match the engine to determine from which plane it came from and if it was an engine on the left or on the right side of the plane?

Apparently, right engines are a different type from left engines.

Part of the irony here is that Niner's "source" isn't his source, but instead what someone *else* said an almost completely discredited historian said, that by the time zie made the latter 3 posts, zie had been offered *5* other sources, and that the document zie tries to confirm is the one we're talking about doesn't even contain the quote in question.

They can persuade the airlines to go along with their cunning nonexistent plane scam even though it virtually bankrupts them, but getting hold of the right kind of engine is just too much to ask, and then they're stupid enough to plant the wrong type rather than simply not plant one at all.

I saw a hand bill in Frankfurt Germany with an add for something called the agony booth. Odd. It seems they wanted people to pay to enter it. Maybe it was a different kind of agony booth.

Well, to be absolutely nitpickingly fair, some piston engines come in left and right hand versions. It's useful to have engines on a twin counter-rotate.
Jet engines don't exhibit the P-factor phenomena that propeller airplanes do, so it wouldn't serve much purpose for them.
